I don't know where exactly this should go, so just move it if this isn't the correct forum.
Well, Mirror's Edge is one of the more, if not the most, revolutionary titles of the year. Think about it, it's essentially a first person platformer. Not only that, but the story is pretty good, and the gameplay is very fluid, with the only exception being the hand-to-hand combat.
So, why is this game a must-rent instead of a must-buy? Replay value. That's it. I'm not going to argue that it isn't important, because it is. Is it enough to warrant a 7/10? No. But it is important.
However, we, as the gaming community, need to support revolutionary titles like mirror's edge. It's not even like the gameplay sucks people, so just buy the damn thing! The more money DICE gets from Mirror's Edge, the more chances they will take with games, and the more chances everyone else will take as well. Do you really want to play GTA/CoD/Halo clones for the rest of your life? Didn't think so.
Support Mirror's Edge. At the very least, use your Christmas gift cards to get it if you don't want to use your own money. The gameplay is fantastic, time trial mode is addicting, the only major minus to the game is replay value.
