Pirate Hat: Over the Count

Right now my Cleric is 60, I have the level 60 Pirate Hat, and my PPQ count is 79. If I go over 80 PQs, do I jeopardize my ability to get the level 70 hat?

No. You can exchange your hat at any time. IIRC, it gives you the option to upgrade it when you check. It will say something like...

You have defeated Lord Pirate 94 times. Thanks a lot for helping us out. Do you want to upgrade your Lord Pirate's Hat? [Yes] [No] OR [Accept] [Decline]

Someone else can probably give a more accurate description, but that's the gist of it. I presume that you are using the hat, so just keep it equipped at all times until you decide to upgrade it. They can't upgrade it if isn't in your inventory.

Now next question: If I PQ anymore, I'm elegible for the level 80 pirate hat, but I only have the level 60 hat. Am I not able to get the 70 hat (Do I skip directly from 60 --> 80) if I PQ more?

most likely not, you will probably get the level 70 hat and have to upgrade it again to get the lvl 80 one. that's just a guess though

Yep. Until you accept the level 70 hat, you will have opportunity for the level 80 hat. It does something like this:

Check for 30+ PQs Done: Yes.
If Yes, do they have the level 60 hat: Yes.
If Yes, check for 70+ PQs Done: Yes.
If Yes, do they have the level 70 hat: No.
Offer the level 70 hat: Yes.
If Yes, was hat accepted: No.

And until that last line results in a Yes, you will never have the option for level 80. However, you will be able to upgrade immediately for the level 80 hat if you have enough PQs completed.

I don't know why, but I have a thing for PPQ. I already did 500 to get the level 90 on my bowman.

I have a measly 13x down on the path to my level 90 hat. <_< I don't know how you can stay so focused. :X
