Wind booster + Fast(4) = ?
#1
Ok guys, we have wondered for a while, and now we can finally find it out.
When kMS released pirates, and we learned about wind booster or speed infusion, or w/e its called, we learned at level 11 it raises weapon speed by 2. What implications would this have for an rk user? (hence the warrior forum) Did they take off the faster(2) speed cap or not? Because if not, Dragon Claymores would be tons better than rks now, and everyone who converted to 1h gets screwed. So whats up with wind booster?

I'm interested in this as well. However, keep in mind that Dragon Claymores won't be "tons better" than rks. Dragon Claymores will only be better given that there's a Buccaneer with speed infusion in your party all the time.

This was in the implied context of a ht run per say.

No, I think RK's wouldn't become faster. If you can afford a godly rk/shield I'm sure you could also afford a good claymore with that anyways.

Pretty sure it's confirmed that Fast 4 + regular booster [Faster 3] is the fastest you can go. Ribgol + Speed infusion makes it as fast as RK/Lunch box users. Level 11+ is 2 reductions but the 2nd reduction won't make the ribgol go any faster.

Regular booster is 2 speed reductions. The speed cap as of .61 was Faster (2).

I have a large table of values dictating how many hits you can pull off per minute based on various speeds and booster. Fastest you can go is 2.

Fastest sword is the Pumpkin Basket (SE 2006), at Faster(3) speed, and I've tested it =P

Isn't Bare Hands Faster (2)?

might go faster for swords but for daggers and claws its pretty much animation limit which blows! lucky warriors!

oh and has anyone tried lv 43 maple spear /normal spear + windbooster+1/2? i wonder....

Fusion mace is Faster(3) too :3 Unfortunately I don't know of any Fast(4) BWs, or anyone with Wind Booster :p

Let's just say that an impaler with wind booster is so fast that the crusher animation can't keep up with the spear :p.

I have tested this with my lunchbox.
I did the same number of blasts with wind booster and without. But now i can use my blue screamer @ bosses and not feel slow Big Grin

Oh that sucks. So attack cap is still there. But lunchbox + good attack shield > even perfect blue screamer with or without wind booster.

I should warn you that one of the main reasons that the Lunchbox + watk shield combo is better than a 2h sword is because it attacks FASTER. With Speed Infusion (wind booster), that advantage disappears. This closes the damage gap between 2h swords and 1h sword + shield methods. Additional wAtk and STR actually favors the 2h sword anyways, so if you use an Onyx Apple or Gelt Chocolate, 2h swords beats 1h sword + shield.

Code:
2h Sword Base Damage Formula: [STR*4.6 + DEX] * (wAtk / 100)
1h Sword Base Damage Formula: [STR*4.0 + DEX] * (wAtk / 100)

Assume the following:
1.) Weapon Speed isn't a factor.
2.) Character has base stats of 768 STR and 4 DEX (lvl 150 DEX-less Warrior)
3.) There are no other influences aside from weapon and shield equipment.

[U]Perfect Dragon Claymore[/U]
[783*4.6 + 4] * (145 / 100) = [B]5228.41[/B]

[U]Perfect Lunchbox and Perfect wAtk Shield[/U]
[803*4.0 + 4] * (174 / 100) = [B]5595.84[/B]

In the next set of calculations, Onyx Apples are added.

[U]Perfect Dragon Claymore[/U]
[783*4.6 + 4] * (245 / 100) = [B]8834.21[/B]

[U]Perfect Lunchbox and Perfect wAtk Shield[/U]
[803*4.0 + 4] * (274 / 100) = [B]8811.84[/B]

And if you lose the perfect Shield for an obtainable 20 atk Shield, you drop to 5270 without Apples... not really better >_>

Yah, I got that much with the whole speed deal, but he was talking about a blue screamer, which a lunchbox could beat with even just a few 60s.

With lvl 1 SI a Stonetooth gets the same attacking speed as a Lunchbox, because the last one doesn't change at all. Which is the reason why i love my Stonetooth when bossing with my Buccaneer guildie now Smile

So whats the fastest speed u can get is it 3?

Also I saw some1 saying normal boosters increases speed by 2? Thought it was 1.

So if sauna.gibbed.us is right;
Fairfrozen Slow (7)
Normal booster > 5
Speed infusion > 3 ?

I think the cap is still Fastest (2). NLs don't seem to attack faster with Speed Infusion. Marksmen do, going from (6-2)=Fast (4) to (6-4)=Fastest (2).

Just from that info alone, it seems like anyone using a Fast (4) weapon receives absolutely no bonus from SI.
