NPC scammer of Old Foxtail?
#1
I don't know if this is new, but I haven't seen mention of it anywhere.
While walking back to KFT from Fox Ridge, after killing the 9-tailed fox and getting his tail, I enter the portal and get the message "A path that's been crossed numerous times, but it feels really different this time..." in my chat box.
I enter a map with Black Mountain scenery, but no monsters.
I walk to the portal on the other end, and on the way encounter an NPC called "A Familiar Lady", sobbing. She doesn't show up in green on the mini-map (which is untitled), nor does she have a quest lightbulb over her head.
Nevertheless I talk to her. She asks for help. I can choose "How can I help you?" or "I don't have time right now" (or words to that effect). Of course I choose "How can I help you?"
Her brother needs soup made out of . [not a typo - that's what it says. no description of the item].
I don't remember if that screen has an "Accept" or "Next" button - but anyway, once I continued, she stole my Old Fox Tail and defamed me 5 times!

I got a new foxtail, but I don't know whether I want to just ignore her, or try the other answer ("don't have time") or try being kind again ("fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me"?) to maybe get my fame back. What do you say?

I say this sounds freakin' awesome, and I am going to try it tomorrow.

Keep talking to her! Keep trying different things!

Which quest is this? I don't remember this quest existing. I didn't even know the fox was out until I accidentally pressed up while walking by to get to the goblins.

The quest is Legends of Hometown.

And update: I decided not to talk to the lady again. Went to KFT and used the tail to restore Chil Nam to his senses. He said that the last thing he remembered was helping a lady in the woods... So, it seems this "familiar lady" is in fact the Old Fox himself, in magical disguise.

Oh, that's no fun. It sounds like it's just a trick to mess you up during that quest.

Sounds like the lady that the victim NPC was referring to xD

I missed it though. What makes Nexon think they would return to that map with the old fox tail?

Not a victim...

Ok, well, if you read the quest *ahem hem*, it says that Foxes that gain a lot of power can disguise themselves as humans. Guess who that Girl is... Yeah, that's right. She's the fox you just defeated. She was taking her tail back :p

If you want to read more. Remember the original translation of this boss was Gumiho (which you can see listed there)

...I went back in there with the quest once (I forgot I had return scrolls, okay? <_<) and came back in by accident. It didn't say anything...

EDIT : Does anyone have an SS?

Dammit. So we all missed this quest?
Or is it like the Mano quest where it's either one quest or the other?

I think it's not a quest. It's just a part of the whole fox quest.

All KFT quests aree based on Korean Folk-Tales. My friend told me about this story, as well as 'Brotherly love' and 'the kids who became the sun and the moon'

And that's relevant how?

Also, that's not true. Some of the magician quests go there and aren't based on storybooks.

(BTW, your siggy made me LOSE the game. Tongue)

Just saying that it isn't a glitch, but so biased to Koreans since they're the only ones who could possibly know talking to the lady would be badRedface

Does anyone have a screenshot of this?
I used a return scroll and missed out. T_T

Of course it's not a glitch. It's also not a quest. It's just something that happens.

Wow, this sounds like fun lol.

The no green dot thingy and the obvious typo strikes me as odd, though...
