Think Guwaru will amount to anything?

After completing the Ellin Forest quest chain as normal,

Luminous will get a bonus quest where he finds Guwaru. He was being controlled by the Black Mage back then, but now that Magnus backstabbed him and he reincarnated, he is free, and he has no intention of doing anything.

.....Surely they didn't introduce a General just to get backstabbed by another, did they? All the other Generals have become bosses, except Demon Slayer who became a playable character,

Lotus who most likely will be a boss sometime in the near future, and Orca who got backstabbed and was forced to switch sides.

I want to know the spoiler. I probably already know what the 'one bit of spoiler' is but it's good to know regardless since we won't have this class for at least six more months.

The entire thing with Guwaru was essentially a punchline to a setup that was forgotten half a year ago.

Guwaru was the first of the Black Mage's commanders to be confirmed alive (von leon's existence hadn't been made public yet and the others don't appear until later, timeline-wise), which panicked the entire Maple World into forming the Alliance. As it turns out, although they were right about the commanders still being around, the one who actually raised the initial panic was the one that they didn't need to worry about in the first place.

I don't understand why Guwaru sent that like message to the Maple Alliance in the first place..? I mean if he's passive now wtp..? is there supposed to be like a MEGA timeline change..? Are there more than 1 Guwaru's then..?

Chronologically, the events of the Alliance should begin with Cygnus finding out about the future as it's only then that you get to send letters as a KoC.
