LOS ANGELES, CA Karma Koin, the prepaid card solution that empowers users to create positive change in the world, today announced that it has officially launched its prepaid cards in more than 1,300 7-Eleven and Best Buy stores in Mexico.

Karma Koin gives secure, same-as-cash buying power to its users, eliminating the need for having a credit card to buy online. Mexico-based customers will now be able to use Karma Koin cards to make purchases in their favorite games and more. They will also be helping to create positive change through Karma Koin, where one percent of the value of every card redeemed is donated to charity.

Karma Koin cards are available in MXN 150 and MXN 250 denominations at 7-Eleven and Best Buy stores in Mexico. Karma Koin cards are also available in $10, $25 and $50 denominations in more than 75,000 stores around the world including 7-Eleven, CVS/pharmacy, GameStop, Safeway and Walgreens in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

We are excited about bringing Karma Koin to Mexico, said Makoto Iwai, Nexon Americas Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy. It has never been easier for our customers in Mexico to simply pick up a card at a store nearby and enjoy a safe and secure method of purchasing items in the games they love to play.

In addition, the one percent of every Karma Koin card that is redeemed will benefit a charitable cause. Karma Koin recently made a donation pledge of $250,000 to charity: waters September campaign that will bring sustainable clean water to thousands of people in the Rulindo District of Rwanda.

Karma Koins partners whose products will be accessible in Mexico include GameRage, gPotato, Kill3rCombo, Musicshake, Nexon America and Z8 Games. To learn more about Karma Koin and its recent charity efforts, visit: www.karmakoin.com.

Woudl these be 10K and 25K?

Cause if so the 10K seems a bit of a rip, but the 25K a steal.

It's possible they're 10 and 20 USD respectively. Just because the cards are 10 and 25 elsewhere doesn't mean they're stuck in those denominations, especially not if they're creating their own distinct cards for the Mexican market.

We'll have to wait for one of our handy Mexican Southperrians to find some and tell us how much NX they cash into since everything I can find about them is a verbatim regurgitation or translation of the above. They could be a nice steal.

According to a 7/ 11 store manager, the 150 MXN will give 15k Nx Prepaid, while the 250 MXN will be 25k nx, making them cheaper for us than buying online.

A 15K Prepaid card would equal 11 dollars and 50 cents.

However the Koins are still on "Upcoming products", so until it gets here I won't be able to confirm it. I'll post SS when they get here.

Does this mean it's time to run to Mexico to nab my weekly NX fix?

I'm sure some enterprising business will set up a "buy mexican NX online" website.
