Telltale's The Walking Dead
#1
How is it that there isn't a thread about this here?
[SPOILER=Season One info (READ IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED IT)]

Telltale's The Walking Dead came out on April 24, 2012 for PC and Mac, promising a five-episode "season" of death, zombies and emotions. Since then, three more episodes have come out. The season finale is going to be released tomorrow for PSN, and Wednesday for 360, PC, Mac and iOS. A second season has already been announced, and a full retail version containing all five episodes will be released on December 4.

By purchasing the game right now, you can most likely get the season pass containing all five episodes of the first season.

The first season focuses on Lee Everett, a criminal who's being taken to prison when he comes face-to-face with the zombie apocalypse. The game is a point-and-click adventure, focusing on puzzle solving and investigation more than actual combat (although there is some).

What makes this game so special is that it tracks your progress throughout the season (or possibly throughout multiple seasons?). That seems almost standard fare with games such as BioShock and Gears of War, but your choices in this game have very visible consequences. Some of them don't seem so, but others pile up until you're smacked in the face in Episode 4 with decisions you made in Episode 1. The storytelling is very masterful from the four episodes I've played of it, and the gaming media in general has been very ravey with this game. Emotions abound.

Here's a link to the Steam page for this game.

 Steam blurb

I have been recommending this game to absolutely everyone I know. Even those who don't play videogames. It's the best game I have played this year, hands down. Please, give it a try! I ensure that it is very, very deserving of your time and money.

For anyone who's already played, please put all discussion within spoilers. You already know the delicacy of this storyline; don't ruin it for anyone else!

Here's the debut trailer for the game:

This episode bridges the gap between Season 1 and Season 2 by showing five stories set in the first 400 days of the zombie outbreak. It will be coming out starting this week, so get pumped! Choices from season one will carry over into 400 Days, and choices from 400 Days will carry over into season two.

Note that you need to own at least Episode One of Season One to play 400 Days.

Yes, season two of one of the best games in 2012 is almost here! You can now get Season 2 of Telltale's The Walking Dead on Steam.

Season Two finds players in control of Clementine, an orphaned young girl living in the zombie apocalypse and trying to survive. Set in the same universe as Robert Kirkman's comic book series, this season tests Clementine's character and morals as a child facing both the living and the dead by herself. The choices you make will change the story around you -- as will choices from Season One and 400 Days -- as Clementine searches for safety.

The season will launch 'later this year' for Windows, Mac, Xbox 360, PS3 and iOS, with additional platforms to come.

I hesitate to post any gameplay because I'd hate to spoil it, but.. well.

 Spoilers ahead for ep. 2.

That's pretty much what the gameplay is like, with some sample plot and a decision.

Episode 5 is out! Get those tissues!

EDIT: I just finished it. There are no words for how great an experience that was, how much I just want to bawl, and how much I want to play through the entire season again. I want Season 2.

I'm crying...Worse than Wreck-It-Ralph, worse than Clanadd, worse than hearing Star Wars Battlefront 3 was supposed to exist....They did give a fair warning, tho.

I wonder what choices from season one will carry over? Probably means some of the characters will end up going to some of the locations from the main game (maybe the corn field was Hershel's farm after he left with Rick's group? or the cannibal farm.)

Can't wait, had no idea it was coming out so early. Move over Xenon, this is what i'll be doing wednesday.

Bought the DLC, downloaded it.

Can't run the game, keeps coming up with a "Walkingdead101.exe" error that crashes as soon as the game starts. fantastic.

You finished episode 5 in 2 hours? ... That's kind of disappointing.
