Horntail and the drop bugs?

Did the patch fix HT or do we still need to wait 30 minutes after entering the main cave?
If yes, did they fix Chaos HTs ridiculous 10 man requirement to even get drops?

I don't know about CHT, but HT doesn't drop under 30 minutes if you have too few people. I'm not sure what the exact limit is, but parties of 5 are getting drops, I believe.

I went twice right after the patch and neither run dropped a single HTP. Waited the normal amount of time and killed it when I was supposed to, too.
Haven't gone again since then.

@above: I've gotten 2 HTPs per run i did last night. Nothing else significant dropped though. So i'd say so.

Yes, it's not uncommon to not get an egg, HTP, or both.

Did you get an egg at all since the instantiation?

My buddy killed HT 7 times, got drops, but no egg. The egg doesn't appear in its Codex drop list, either.

Eggs drop, I've had one yesterday. First in 5 runs tough.

By what you are saying, if we enter Ht with 5 people, do we have to wait 30 minutes before we completely kill it, or before the party enters HT? Someone explain clearly ^^'

To the best of my understanding, you have to wait half an hour after Horntail is summoned to kill him to get loot. Additionally, I think there's some stipulation (or at least there was for CHT) that you need a certain number of people alive and in Horntail's room when he dies.

No. The 'counter' starts from the moment he is summoned.

Not too bummed though, not like they were selling for a lot anyways.

Unless you need to get a pendant or egg it isn't really even worth waiting for drops at Horntail anymore, I've been going twice every day since Renegades and haven't gotten a single Mystery Book or useful drop, I usually get 1 weapon and 1 pendant and some potions. Zakum drop rate sucks now too, but Von Leon's seems to have been increased.

Yeah.. I recorded a VL video today and he used DR and potential lock so often. >_< He used to drop 1-3 coins and maybe a stack of meso and a potion, but he dropped loads of potions and meso as well as a coin. Might go on 4x drop tomorrow and see if I can get more coins.

VL dropped 4 coins for me during 2x.
