MapleStory on Steam?
#1
Well, in the past week or two, Steam has 3 Nexon games up - Vindictus, DFO, and Atlantica Online. And all of them having the ability to use your Steam Wallet (or whatever CC is connected to your Steam account I think) to charge NX.

Will we see MapleStory follow suit? Do we want to see MapleStory on Steam?

Would be nice to have Maple work on Steam. Steam doesn't detect the game after using GameLauncher.

More players is usually a good thing. As long as they aren't 5 year olds. And at least if it comes to Steam, I will feel like a real man buying a card for steam rather than an NX card. Do they even have steam cards? I cannot describe the feeling when a nice 20-25 year old chick sells you 50 dollars wasted on Maple. Awwwwkkkkward.

Edit:

 Spoiler

Yes! Everyone thinks I will be buying Counter Strike: GO... haha they never suspected it.

You can get Steam cards at Gamestop at $20 and $50 amounts.

I feel like they'll do it eventually, but not now.
I thought Combat Arms was going to be in Steam as well, guess not. Looks like they just dumped their 3 most poor performing games (I don't know about DFO though) and is trying to test it out.

...not really, Nexon would still publish the game, it would basically just have the Steam overlay in game.

You know how steam handles patches though right?
Fully Automatically in the background, with multiple download servers.

that is also a reason why steam and maplestory won't work

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Yes, for games hosted on Steam. Games that are published by other companies don't work that way. Opening them in Steam just runs whatever program checks for updates for that game. Steam doesn't update them. Steam does not check for updates for those games. Valve doesn't host their updates.

Cool, now we can get people who play Borderlands all day to try it out.

Games published by third parties can still update directly through Steam, however a good number of games (especially with MMO's and F2P), launching through steam will give you something akin to the start screen you get when running MS, which handles patching, etc etc. Which since MS already has that set up, would almost certainly be how patching would get handled.

Please god no. Keep the abomination off of steam. Vindictus only works because valve helped a bit.

So...DFO works out of pure chance... I guess?

I mean, MS wouldn't be the worst game on Steam.

To clarify this statement to people who don't know what hes talking about, Vindictus runs on valve's source engine.

I mean Vindictus is the only decent Nexon game in my opinion. And it only works because yes, Valve helped them make it by providing them with their kick ass engine.
