Lab Items
#1
I've been getting calls recently from job recruiters who are looking for an individual with refined wet chemistry skills. Unfortunately it has been a long time since I've been anywhere near a lab, much less practicing basic chemistry. If you could recommend some purchasable sets that you may personally know of or just tell me the company that makes the flasks and other items that you use in University it would be appreciated.

Hmm, I don't really remember who made our glass stuff.
http://www.vwr.com does it for sure, but of course there are others.

You need to tell me what kind of jobs those are. Polymer? Fine chemicals? General synthesis? Process chem? Inorg or org or analytical? etc.

You are less likely to screw up doing the simple stuff. If anything, please practice doing GOOD TLCs, but the things you can't really practice are Flash and glove box usage, as well as anything pyrophoric e.g. your BuLi.

Actually lmao I'm going to need to know how to do titrations, IC, HPLC, and GC chromatography.

Titrations? See above.

Anything else, and there's Mastercard. Wait... I'm not sure if PIs and lab heads accept cards anymore...
