The Conservative Teen

Jezebel Wrote:Hey kids! Do you hate awesome, fun things that are not driven by an aversion for shame and divine punishment? Are you a terrible drag at parties? Then boy oh boy is this ever the magazine for you. Let's peruse the Aryan stock photo model-intensive pages of the latest issue of The Conservative Teen and get red state-ified.

When The Conservative Teen was first brought to my attention, I assumed, based on the stern-looking Daughters of the American Revolution cover model and the terribly unhip cover lines, that the thing was a joke put together by a progressive kid with access to Photoshop frustrated by the inescapable conservatism of their buttoned-up suburb. But a quick perusal through the latest issue reveals that the quarterly magazine boasts a masthead full of middle aged male employees of conservative think tanks like the Family Research Council and the American Heritage Foundation. They've even got that Fox Business News guy with the Geraldo mustache! It's real!

This is the funniest thing I've read all week. Oh my god at the fact it's real. #dying

I'm a bit confused why people here are more in support of liberals than conservatives. I support neither, but certainly feel that conservatives have done more, I wouldn't say "good", but at least, more USEFUL things for this country, than liberals have. Basically, on the worthless trash meter, I place conservatives infinitesimally above liberals. It's your opinion and you are free to it, I'm just slightly confused, is all.

Younger people are more likely to be liberal because we want change and all.

Plus none of us live in the South.

You better get out of this thread before a flame war erupts.

Does region a person is from really brainwash to that extent? That's kinda...sad. Makes me a bit more content with having no political stance, at the very least.

The farther you head south, the more you better like jesus, or else you'll be exiled and bullied. It's also a poor educated area. I think Georgia got sued recently because they allowed their students cheat on their finals or SAT's? I forgot.

I know the stereotypes, and I know that some of it is true since I have a friend who is, unfortunately, working as a substitute teacher in Alabama at the moment.

My dad's been all around the world, all around the united states. He says that the whole tennessee area, not only lives up to the stereotypes but is possibly the butt crack of the world.

Maybe because conservatives are doing everything in their power to pineapple over the current generation?
I mean holy pomegranate, if you aren't a rich white businessman, why the pineapple would you even consider being a conservative.
Conservatives have literally done absolutely nothing good for me at all in the entire span of my lifetime. pineapple conservatives and conservatism, at least the liberals look out for the little guy.

Not only that, but all this "GET RID OF OBAMACARE" nonsense DIRECTLY fucks me over, because it's the only reason right now as to why I even HAVE insurance. (The part that allows people to stay on their folks plans until they're like 26)
Just. Gah. I know this is shenanigans, and I'm sorry Flonne, but something about that post just set me right the pineapple off, and I apologise for that.

I feel slightly different; I trust absolutely none of them, so, the way I see it, at least conservatives are being honest and up front about screwing everyone. Everyone else does it as sneakily as possible. I feel like I can trust conservatives a little bit more based on this fact; I hate being lied to, and it's clear to me that ALL politicians are liars to some extent. Liberals "looking out for the little guy", as you put it, is just another way to divert attention from the things they are doing on the down low, and, I'm sure they are even profiting (monetarily or, more likely, in some other way, such as promise of positions of power in the new regime) off of bankrupting this country, too.

I still prefer a politician that robs while doing something good for me and/or the country than one that robs and does nothing good for me and/or the country.

I don't care for either of the two extremes. I believe there should be a balance in everything.
I maintain some pretty conservative views, but others are somewhat liberal.

More of a green party type of person than anything, I guess. ._.
As for the running politicians, they all seem pretty damn shady.

Coming from someone who considers themself a conservative, I found this hilarious-there are so many stereotypes. Geraldo mustache, was the best part, especially if they are trying to pass him as a "conservative."

This has been my underlying project I've been working on. How did you know?

The guy on the cover screams "this is made by log-cabin republicans. And I am one of them."
