Questions on Professions and Trait-Leveling
#1
Hey all,

I know there was some discussion of this in the Achievement Thread, but I had some more specific questions and thus, here we are.

1. Which professions level up which personality trait?
2. What is the fastest way to level up the professions?

Also leveling up a profession only awards you legend coins the first time you max it right?

Thanks. Biggrin

Smithing, Alchemy, and Accessory Crafting all give Diligence bonuses.
Mining gives Willpower bonuses.
Herbalism gives Empathy, iirc.

This is just on levelups - the actual item crafting and stuff gives diligence bonuses, but is limited to 500/day.

i've been doing the first potion with marjoram seeds, then making those into the +3 str potion.

imma drop numbers in this post, if anyone feels like making sense of the numbers, feel free.

exp to level ~ potions required using most basic potion -Def I-, fatigue (exp given -I- -II- -III- IV-)

250 exp ~ 3 potions, 3*3 fatigue (120)
600 exp ~ 6 potions, 3*6 fatigue (114) (def pot II is 120)
1050 exp ~ 10 potions, 3*10 fatigue (108) (114) (def pot III is 120 exp)
1600 exp ~ 16 potions, 3*16 fatigue (103) (108) (114) (def pot IV is 120 exp)
2250 exp ~ 23 potions, 3*23 fatigue (98) (103) (108) (114)
3000 exp ~ 32 potions, 3*30 fatigue (94) (98) (103) (108)
3850 exp ~ 44 potions, 3*44 fatigue (89) (94) (98) (103)
4900 exp ~ 58 potions, 3*58 fatigue (85) (89) (94) (98)
5850 exp ~ 73 potions, 3*73 fatigue (81) (85) (89) (94)

Herbalist would do Marjoram Seed Oil (2x Marjoram from NPC) into basic STR/DEX/LUK/INT potions - they all require 3 marjoram seed oil, plus 5 bottles.

I think smithing for arrows is probably the most hands-off one of the 3 "secondary" ones - you can stack 20x100 arrows per slot, and it only takes 1 silver plate (or 1 opal), nothing else.

2200 arrows per slot.

Wow, sounds like it is pretty cheap and easy to level these. Unfortunately the only way to get willpower is to mine ores... ugh... I can already tell what my next week is going to entail.

Fixed.
Willpower is from crafting plates.
Which is a hell of a lot easier because you can just buy hundreds of low-level ores at once from Nack and refine them for win.

Rolleyes Can I get a third opinion on this?

I have level 9 mining on both my jeweler and smith, and both of them have wimpy willpower. I'm pretty sure mining has nothing to do with it.

The only way to get Willpower is to PQ or to AFK.

maxing mining (which you will be doing, several times) grants willpower too, not as much, since it levels oh-so-slowly, but meh, you're buying levels.

how i wish we didn't have a trait cap, geez.

edit: seeing the above, let me explain: LEVELING mining grants willpower, and it's oppossite herbalism levels empathy. the act of mining/herbalwhadoodad doesn't grant willpower/empathy.

Ah ok, thanks. Sucks that I can't just make plates for willpower, so I guess back to Kenta Pq I go while maxing professings over and over.

My way of grinding Alchemy is making Defense Potions, then making them Defense Pills. This is quite efficient since you make 25 Potions every time, while transforming them to Pills goes per 5. You can also make the Defense Pills advanced if you have the plates/jewels (only needs 1). The downside is that you have to hunt for the Pill recipes, but they aren't hard to find.

For example, I found an Advanced Defense Pill III recipe, so with 3 Rosemary Seed Oils and 1 Steel Plate I get the exp for 7 actions (1 for making the potion, 1 to make it advanced, 5 for making them pills). All other items can be bought at the NPC.

Regular Defense Pill recipes can be bought from the Alchemy Recipe NPC, which saves you the time of hunting if you don't want to go the Advanced route.

This is probably the best way to level Alchemy that requires the least resources.

wrong. Herbing or w/e grants 5 empathy. Oh but i make the 1000mp potions 400 a stack. kinda(not really) usefull for my paladin. and once u make them. you can buy powders and make the pills that stack to 800. I would use them but they kinda useless at potion cooldown places. so i use the 2500ones (2058max mp atm)

.....

Leveling up, not the act of crafting something.
It does not contribute to the daily cap, thus you can essentially go from Lvl 1 in a trait to Lvl 100 in a trait in a day.
Understand now?
