I haven't played any of the other three, so I can't judge them, but Arkham City was a really fun game, easy beyond belief, but the gameplay was pretty solid.

GRIMDARK western game beat out a colorful Nintendo game at a joke award show?

I would say everything I find to be wrong with the Spike VGA show, but I would frankly just be re-telling what Extra Credits said months ago, and doing so badly. So here's a link to that, because relevant, and because frankly more interesting than watching Spike's VGA.

While Skyward Sword isn't winning anything and is getting a ton of hate around the internet about its "faulty, horrible motion controls, bad graphics and lack of HD," I'm going on my third play-through in under a month of its release and still enjoying every second of it.

We should not care about awards shows because "they rate our games", we should care about awards shows, because they bring us better games to begin with, if that makes sense. I would try to explain it all better, but quoting a previous post:
