This has been driving me insane for a while now. I'm quite new to Ubuntu, recently started using it for class (recently updated it too, so now the UI is confusing as pomegranate and I gotta get used to it all over again ._.), and I'm supposed to add it to my Windows domain. I managed to do so with Windows XP easily, I came across no problems there.
But with Ubuntu, I have this one problem preventing me from adding it to my Windows domain. I follow the steps as seen here, but I can't go past the command line for joining the domain;
Searching Google yields no helpful results because I'm doing it as an assignment and don't actually have any real setup past having Server 2008 open on VMWare with the domain set up and my teacher won't directly help out as he says help from anywhere is allowed but he himself isn't going to help us. So, the suggestions are all very complicated and they seem to not be very helpful. If anyone knows anything about Ubuntu and knows what to do to fix this problem, or can point me to a simple solution, that would be greatly appreciated.
