Items......Disappearing?
#1
The first time I heard of this phenomenon was last Thursday, when I was buying a dagger from someone. Right before the trade, he told me that, for some reason, the dagger was no longer in his inventory, even though he had seen it ~2 hours ago. He had searched everywhere on the account, but it was simply not there. We both decided that he must have, unfortunately, gotten hacked. Oddly enough, none of his other items(worth 10s of Bils) were missing from the account.

This morning, as I was browsing FM, I noticed quite a few shop titles from people who claim that their items disappeared. Normally, this would be scoffed at by me, but I noticed 6-7 different people who stated this. They ranged from low levels with bad items, to extremely high levels with godly equips(from the other items they had in their store)

Around an hour ago, I was bored, so I started enhancing a GDK.
I managed to pass 6 enhances(lol) on it without it blowing up. I laughed to myself about it and went on my way. In about 10 minutes, I opened my inventory and, lo and behold, it was missing. I had not relogged, not used storage. I was in a trade one time, but the dagger was not part of the trade. I could care less about the dagger, but who knows what else could disappear?
Normally, I'm not the type of person who believes in these things, but having it happen to me changes things.
I am disappointed that I didnt get it recorded, as I was recording the enhancement, but stopped recording right after.

Edit: Right after enhancing, I got an ani invite, went inside ani, traded someone(while inside ani, the dagger was not in the trade, but another equip item was, trade was NOT confirmed), and when I checked my inventory(still in the ani map, with ani dead), it was gone.
I doubt any of the above has any relation to this, but all information could be useful when trying to find the cause.

I hadn't logged in for 2 or so months until last night, and I got on to find my PaC, Deputy Star, and Work Gloves missing. However, those were the only items missing from that character. Everything else, all my other decently good equips, my Scarlion, etc. were still there. I figured it was because I had got hacked again, but they didn't bother to take a single other thing on that character, or any others, nor did they even take advantage of the stocked up NX/Maple Points I had.

I dunno if it truly was just a hacking, or what you're claiming happened to me. But whatever, figured I'd just add to this.

I've heard a few friends of mine complaining about this aswell. And like you I also saw plenty of
Windia shops with something saying about items dissapearing. I really hope this wont happen to me...

I don't see how the details of enhancing the dagger is relevent unless the other items were also enhanced. Then it's possible that it blew up but the server isn't registering it correctly and plays catch up. It be more helpful if we knew the claims of the other items dissapearing.

I had a GM scroll for axe atk disapear on me about a week ago. Untill I read this post I thought I was going crazy....

Edit:
By the way, If I was hacked they did a terible job. I have plenty of good tradable items that were not touched.

Omg. This is happening to me too! I have not played for over 2 months. First time logging in yesterday to find out my work gloves was missing. I searched all my mules without success. I know that I still have it equipped the last time I was playing because I remember I was bossing when I last played. When I'm bossing I always have all my gears.

Small thing to add: I also realized that my speed ring (the one that adds +15 Speed) is also missing. And I wouldn't think that'd be a prime item to take and pawn off, so there's definitely something off here. Also, all of the items were somewhat scattered across my multiple characters (WG on a new Warrior, PaC on my Mechanic, Deputy Star on my Slinger), and yet nothing else is missing.

This is starting to look pretty bad.

ITT: FUD

/And people who haven't connected items "disappearing" while they weren't logged on for the past several months with the recent mass hacking fiasco.

My cousin's account got all his mesos deleted. If someone hacked him, they did one hell of a job and didn't take any of the things that were worth money. All they took was his mesos o_O Probably not related, but it's possible.

A lot of the above stories of items being gone after returning from breaks sound like hackings :/
Mine literally vanished while I was still online.

Please post any other actions you went through right before the items disappeared, so that we can try to isolate the cause.

This has happened ever since MS started. I've had items disappear from me after a while. All of them were unimportant though. But this did happen to my friend right when Ascension hit. Logged in to find his VL dagger missing he had equipped.

Well, I passed items to my mule via storage, took it from FM to ardentmill to get sum magnifying glasses, open inventory there and boom 4 unique items are just gone out of thin air.

and no, I didn't accidently npc it , last time I did that was 6 years ago and anytime I'm using an npc with that potential I'm extremely carefull and triple check what I'm clicking.
