Where to train now?
#1
...so I'm a lvl 79 WK right now, and i don't know where to train now. I could do SG Mysterious Path 3 again, but that's getting a bit slow for me.

I'm trying to get to Windraiders, but the quests are so annoying to get the Map and Marker. is it all going to be worth it? or is there another place i could train?

If you did fire. I'd say Duals. But on the other hand, i'd suggest quit wk. Rolleyes

ok...well i did go fire. isn't that extreme pot burn?

Duals with Fire was pretty fast for me, I used to share the map with a same-level-as-me crusader, so I'd recommend that. Or even Ghost Pirates is good, but the map is much larger.

I used to dual at around 10ish%/hour on 2x at higher levels. Maybe you could try Z4 DTs or something, I remember training there. =/

Kinda pot burn not that bad though.

I agree with duals, its best at that level. I've only ever done it on a crusader, but I would think that WKs go faster because of elemental advantage.

how long should it take for me to kill ghost pirates? let's just say with PowerStrike. 5-7 hits?

As long as you consistently do 3700 or more it's fast (minimum to knockback). Of course more damage means more exp.

what do you mean "what about slash blast"?

if you have fa, you cry. but regardless of fa, slashing is ~1.5-3x as fast as striking if you dont suck (like... fucked-skill-build kind of suck). just use more pots. no pain no gain.

You'll be facing some pot burn if you don't do above 3700 for Duals. That's enough said.

If it's such a concern for you, I would suggest trying out Charge Blow in order to give yourself some breathing room. Or switch to Ice Charge and go to Leafre, either works fine.

And I wouldn't try DTs unless you're super 1337 with mobility. They have nearly the same HP as Ghost Pirates anyways, and they won't hesitate to rain destruction.

i just feel like it took too long to kill them, but doing around 2k with slash blast i guess is enough to train there? i'm not worried about pot burning. i'm just worried if it's rly good training.

I can say from experience that Duals are your best exp at this point (Keeping mesos in mind).

They should take about 5 hits to kill (A final attack counts as a hit) with power strike. There's a few tips to take less damage too; Don't jump, and stay close. Moving too far away, or being high up (on a platform/jumping) causes them to m.atk you, and that stings. Just stick to the ground, stick close and attack. Speed gear is a plus so if you don't need acc shoes then hook yourself up with some speed shoes.

Just kill your way down the map then CC to get back to the top. Just in case others may be training there, don't keep CCing in one direction, CC forward, then CC back the next time.

ok, i just wanted to know how long it should take to kill them. i was thinkin of ghost pirates, but w/e. should i use PS or SB more though?

On the higher platforms it will be mainly PS, there is no real advantage to mobbing a couple of them. As for the bottom, just mob them across and SB to death.

Use common sense though, if the platform you're on is relatively small and there are 3-5 Duals on it, just use SB.

Wouldn't recommend ghost pirates at any level, really. It's inevitable you'll have to negotiate the mixed buffoon/pirate platforms to keep the spawn rolling and you'll get PUMMELED every time or take too long picking off individual mobs. Call me lazy but I HATE switching charges in a map, and at 79 if you don't have lvl one CB you actually have to dispel fire manually with your mouse. UGH! I'd rather avoid that mess all together. It's a little climb heavy even for a ludi map, too.

Duals work best in pairs. Ideal party was 4 attackers and a priest but you'll likely find neither nowadays. So. Your min damage matters a LOT if you plan to solo! It could be tough if you're a bw and even using a sword I couldn't keep up until mid 80s. Took about 4-5 PS at 80 so I usually singled out mobs when I could.

Given that I'd still choose the lesser of two evils and go duals all the way.
