Anyone buying this next week? Couple of things to note if you intend to...
Pre-order from gamestop to get a free upgrade to the Signature Edition which comes with a ton of extra stuff (that will be available as DLC later.) Missions, a movie called Embers, and equipment upgrades (presumably more bombs)
If you get the PS3 version, it comes with Assassin's Creed 1. Free. AC1 was actually pretty bad but hey, if you don't already own it and intend to buy this then why not go for a free game?
I'm really excited for this. I only got into the series at the beginning of this year, but I played through the first three games in a short period of time and have eagerly been waiting to find out what will happen next.
I'm excited to see what sort of additional gameplay elements they've added and how they effect the game. Hopefully the crossbow has been toned down a bit because it was waaaay too strong.
Anyone else?

I pre-ordered the Collectors/Signature edition about a month ago for PS3. It seems there will be some sort of new tower defence bit where templars will come in waves. That and tons of bombs and the hookblade. They'll probably have made the crossbow a little slower but after seeing what they've done with bombs I don't think Ubisoft really cares about us easily killing everything. I'll have a hard time focusing though because Skyward Sword comes out on the 18th here and Tales of the Abyss 3DS om the 25th. At least they're all on different systems...

Will probably just rent for the time being. I'll buy it later when I have more money and want to play the multiplayer.

Really excited for this game; have been since it was announced after Brotherhood. I pre-ordered the game a few weeks ago and will probably be going to its midnight release with one of my friends who also pre-ordered it.
I'm very curious as to what direction we'll be heading once Ezio's story is over. I hope that we'll jump to an assassin that lives in the 1800's or so. Maybe take place during the French Revolutionary Wars or something.

Anyone else got this? I'm only on the second sequence because I've been having a ton of fucking trouble getting the signature edition code to work.

Early game spoilers:
I'm at Sequence 3 right now and did the first 2 Desmond Missions (taking a break right now). Funny how the world opens up completely after the first 2 near complete corridors. Really glad parachutes are in from the start (never got to use them in Brotherhood). What does suck is that my PS3 has trouble connecting to the internet from my bedroom, so I'm going to have a hard time playing multiplayer (which even from playing the tutorials seems really really awesome). Den defence is not that great, I'll probably train a lot of Assassins quickly so they will no longer attack my dens (ever).

This den commander bullpomegranate is REALLY pissing me off. I wouldn't mind a goose chase if they didn't disappear for like 20 minutes after I lose them. Also the map in this blows.

Glad I'm not the only one who hates the den commander thing. I liked the idea of a tower defense mini-game to protect your den, however... I do not like the actual mini-game itself. It's tedious and, at times, quite frustrating.
If I remember correctly, I'm in Sequence 6 at the moment. I've taken a long break from the story to focus on all the side stuff. Finished the Desmond Memories, which unlocked something pretty cool. I'm almost done restoring the entire city, as well. 75%, I believe.
On that note, though, anyone else absolutely hate how your notoriety raises whenever you restore a building? I suppose I understand why, because they are taking notice to some guy spending thousands to restore multiple buildings, but pomegranate, it's annoying to restore a building, go find a herald, pay him off, go all the way back, restore another building... because if you don't, and the meter fills up, you get to play the fabulous tower defense mini-game again.

Pretty much why I'm just going to get 1 level 15 Assassin for each den before moving on. Lot's of treasure hunting to do anyway. Also, who else is loving the bombs?

So its this game as repetitive as the first one?
Game was good but doing the same stuff over and over was kinda meh. (Getting to the town, Do Info Collection, Wait for the moment of assassination, Escape, Rinse and Repeat)

3 at each den or just 3 in total. I haven't had any time to play today so I shouldn't be in trouble. I'm really liking the new Assassin Quests, they're much deeper than those in Brotherhood (which were just "this guy is bad, kill him").
@FenixR
The games have become much more open and diverse since the second one. In Brotherhood and Revelations I had/have a lot of trouble figuring out which cool thing to do first. Except for Den Defense, because it interrupts the regular gameplay so much.

I've beaten two and can't win a third one for the life of me.
@FenixR: The completely changed the formula after the first game, it is more like Grand Theft Auto now in that each mission is separate and contained within itself, rather than AC1 which had one mission per city sector with multiple objectives.
Edit: Here's a Den Defense tip that I just figured out and it worked really well for me, but maybe it's obvious and I'm bad
Focus on the barricade that your fort comes with at first and then build your way forward through the rounds.
I was immediately building at the front lines to try and stop them from getting close but the time it takes them to get there gives you a lot of freedom with cannons and you can line the rooftops with gunmen to knock them off before they even get to your barricade.
..there's a trophy/achievement for a perfect run with no cannons
WHAAAT

How many Assassin Creeds where released in total, 3 or 4? I should try to get my hand on the rest of them since i remember this game being one frigging big story.

Also the trophy I mentioned above is really easy. Just do Sequence 2 Memory 6
