Didn't think you would go this low Nexon...

I mean, I know they are the greediest company ever and have scammed people before, but really... Chairs from chair gachapon expire? Yah right, do they honestly think people would pay 3k nx for a random time-limited chair? They would do it only when they expect to get a permanent one.

I think this could be called scamming people... Scamming REAL MONEY.

Glad I didn't buy a ticket myself. Discuss.

People have bought this, this is a new item that'll probably make its return later on...

honestly, not surprised, someone i know was QQing about spending so much mesos for gacha stamps on the untradeable tiger chair, and that now you can get tradeable versions, lol

but yea, it's no surprise, i'm just waiting for agares equips in the gacha, and then an event with empress ones, it's gonna happen, we all know it.

Don't worry, you can also buy an hourglass to extend the life of your random chairs!
They think of everything!

Its only a matter of time before nexon gives a expiration date for our characters or some crap like that.

No scam. The event description clearly says "The chairs will be 30 day, 90 day, or permanent."
Whether people choose to buy the tickets or not, knowing this, is their own problem.
People used to gach (ordinary gach) for chairs, and get far fewer perma chairs for the same amount of dollars.

If the gach rates of these events end up being anything like that of the Reverse/Timeless equips (the old "end-game"), there's little to worry about.

The idea in itself is pretty stupid. A chair? $3? REALLY? On top of that, one that expires!? I mean, I would understand if it were a game like Dragon Ball Online where potions have one minute cool downs and chairs would increase recovery rate when sitting, but in MapleStory, chairs do absolutely nothing important. They're just there to look "cool," but in most cases, that's not even the case!

Anyone who spends $3 on a chair in MapleStory, where chairs are absolutely pointless, is stupid.

No why would they? Any reason to talk badly about Nexon is good, right?

But where does it say that in the item itself? You can't expect everyone to read all the stuff they put on nexon.net

Ofcourse you can, that's why it's called a notice or an information, it gives you information that you might want.
That is nexon's means of communicating with their users, if you don't check that you have nobody to blame but yourself.

Chairs in MapleStory serve the same function as jewelry, paintings, statuary, etc, in the real world.
They have some decorative value, but mostly serve the social function of showing off one's wealth, either in money (I could afford to buy this utterly useless item) or time (I could afford to participate in the pointless event that awarded this). This function is especially apparent since the change that made it possible to see all of another character's chairs.
I suppose one could compare a temporary chair to an ice carving or flower garden - they disappear after a short while but people still put much time, effort and money into them.

Stupid? Maybe. Same as real life.

Anything to complain..I see no problem with this at all. You don't like it you don't have to do it. Some people out there are obsessed with chairs and don't care. They'll cough up hundreds of dollars on this to get these perm chairs and that's their problem. I dipped into my wallet and got 1 ticket for the lulz. Got a 90 day chair. Sold it, got 150m. I'm happy.

Exactly. Apparently, the Relaxer just isn't good enough for some people.

Hey now.
I have a Warrior chair from NLC quests, an Aran chair from a free Hot Time gach ticket, and a Musical Note chair from a free Golden Temple ticket.
Plus a DB chair that I bought.
I just wanted the DB chair because I'm a DB.

How's that different from those Gachapon mounts? Those range from having expiration dates to being permanent. From memory, it costs more than the chair tickets.

I'm personally happy with my relaxer. If I'm training I don't need a chair, and if I'm afking a lengthy time, I might as well set up shop in FM. I might splurge on a maple chair though, those are only going for like 7 mill in Windia.
