Tell your dad he's a plantain for getting you shitty quarter backs. Only advice I can give you is check your players before each week. Make sure they're healthy and playing, or if they're on a bye week and will be out that week. If so, put in a back up if you have one.
That's just pretty basic thinking. I don't play fantasy that much as I usually will just forget about it :S

Go pick up Tim Tebow, LOL
From a bit of fantasy football myself, I'll say this:
Kickers are a crapshoot. Don't worry about them, because there's no way to project them.
Defense is really dependent on who they're playing. You have a decent D in the Steelers, but for me, who doesnt have a good D, I just play matchups each week: Find a D playing a crappy team.
QB: Your only remotely startable QB is Tony Romo. There arent many waiver options for them (Tom Brady was on a bye last week, and the best option out there was *shudders* Curtis Painter. That didnt go well...), hence my Tebow comment. He can be amazing, or he can suck, but I'd take him over Cassel and Smith any day of the week.
RB: Not entirely sure about Morris, but Foster's good. Same with Gore and Matthews (though he shares time with Tolbert). I would rank them Foster, Gore, Matthews, Morris, Thomas, but this would be VERY dependent on matchups. The hot pickup right now is Demarco Murray (Cowboys) who just lit it up last week against the Rams (Ps. If you have a RB playing the Rams anytime soon, put em in).
WR: Get rid of Sidney Rice. Anyone on the hawks suck. I'd say of your receivers, Austin and Welker are your best bets. Of the rest, I'd say only Breaston is useful. Doucet and Moore I wouldnt touch.
TE: Aaron Hernandez is probably a better choice. He shares with Gronkowski, but Shiancoe is on a bad team. See if you can find another TE. Fred Davis (Redskins) if he's out there might be a good idea. Washington just lost their top WR and RB for an extended period.
In general, start guys that are starting against the Rams, Colts, Vikings, Cardinals, Panthers if you can find those guys, but start Foster, Austin, and Welker every game. If you don't want to start the Steelers D, go to the nfl website, and filter the standings by points for, and find the teams that've scored the fewest points and pick them (Right now, Rams, Jaguars, Dolphins, Seahawks).
