Mechs lag the pomegranate out of me
#1
Describe the problem. Be as specific as possible!:
At first I thought it was PVP, but as I logged to do the Knights of Virtue quest with my mech, I discovered that having a mech in the map will literally freeze Maple for a 'brief' moment every few seconds. 'Brief' ranging from 1 second to like 5. Tongue

Might be related to number 12.

If you mean the Mech platform change / jump on rope + jump bug, yes I have it too, but not all the time.

Restarting maple (sometimes multiple times) solves the problem, but of course Nexon needs to fix this.

Really odd bug, no idea can cause this, it looks like a total re-buffer of all textures when you jump to another platform or rope or something like that, but I'm not sure... odd...

P.S.
You stop lagging from jumping from platforms / ropes when you de-mount your Mech prototype an be a mere walking character like everyone else. Smile

Pretty sure Muppy meant OTHER mechs being in the same map, not playing as a mech.

Actually, I meant having any mech on my map. In this case, I only came to notice this because I was playing as a mech, there was no one else in the map and I was Maple was freezing like mad.

seems to be caused by random animations or something, the other day my dragon lagged me while walking on it, next day everything was fine, third day, now it lags when it lands from a fall.

Yeah, yesterday getting 500 hits on my mech was a breeze with no freezing at all. I still haven't tried it today though.

EDIT: doing PvP right now atm. Freezing like no tomorrow whenever a mech is in the map.

Same here, it's driving me nuts.

If I enter and see a Mech I immediately leave, the lag is unbearable.

Normally, I laugh at the people who say mechs lag them.
However, since ascension, using mechs ultimate, or being in a map with someone using it freezes my maple for a good 20 seconds. Same for sairs getting on ship.

All mounts have the ability to cause this, though I'm not sure what the root problem is.

I'm having the exact same problem. I've been doing the Virtue quest on my mech for the past 5 days, and everything was fine. Today, it started lagging like mad every second. I don't lag at all when doing the virtue quest on any other character (didn't experience problems with my WH yet, my sair uses RF so I don't know if ship lags or not). Restarting seems to fix it =/. Pretty random.

Just posting for the sake of posting:

- don't jump/jump down/rocket jump/walk over slopes while mounted. You'll lag upon landing;
- if you need to walk around, preferably do it unmounted. If you walk past the mid section of the maple's window, you'll freeze. This also happens if you try to drill rush past that section;
- doing the 500 hits quest? Walk unmounted, find a nice place to spam flame launcher and then mount. 100% stance ftw.

Tested this last night:

Every time you land from a greater distance than 123% jump (you know, jump downs, landing from ladders, other platforms, etc.), you'll lag.

Every time to cling to a ladder, you lag.

Every time you finish climbing a ladder, you lag.

Nexon:
We put more lag on your lag so you can lag while you lag.

Earlier I died because some guy was switching through the LHC channels and doing a bunch of crap on his plane with the intention to lag/DC people. -_-

inb4 Nexon goes 2 or 3 patches without fixing this

Curious about this situation, since I've made Mech mules myself for the virtue quest and I don't notice any lags when playing as one. However, I believe when I was going through some towns and bumping into other Mechs causes me to lag. Anyone have a clue what causes the lag whether it be just playing as one or whether its a Mech in your map?

Edit: Hmm... I went and tried to lag myself using my Mech mule on another computer, and don't seem to notice any lags. Probably has to do with different IPs if anything, since I'm close to the 2nd computer, it probably doesn't work. So, I guess I still don't understand how people lag from Mechs then. I don't know if it makes a difference if you hop on different mounts for Mechs though because I only used a lvl 20 mule.
