Well, it'd appear my laptop's coming towards the end of its lifespan of usableness, and I'm now left no real option but to either replace the battery charger and case, or just get a new machine altogether. =|
However, being that I'm 1) under a budget, and 2) cheap/poor as f'uck, I would like some help picking out a new computer.
What it'd be used for is mostly day-to-day affairs, nothing intensive, but capable of handling something like minecraft smoothly. And just for particulars, i'd prefer a non-apple brand, with a 15" screen.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

It's basically like a smaller laptop. Cheaper but obviously less "powerful," but a ridiculously long battery life sometimes.

Oh.
Well, cheaper = better for me; if I'm lucky I'll have about 450 to spend for one.

I doubt you can get a netbook with 15" screen, though, they're usually 10-20".

netbooks are usually 10-12'' with no disc drive. They're cheap and 450 is more than enough for one.

What about a Lenovo (IBM) ThinkPad X121e netbook? Should be about 450 dollar!

Just get a netbook for $200~300, they can cater for most the basic needs these days.

Mute Wrote:So I assume its a good model? If you're looking for long battery life + mobility + performance + anti glare screen (it has no shiny shiny reflecting screen which is horrible for mobility netbooks / laptops), that one is the best there is on the market right now.
And if you want more comfort at home, you can:
- Hook it up and external LCD monitor to it via HDMI.
- Hook up a normal keyboard to it.
- Hook up a normal mouse to it.
- Hook up an external DVD to it.
And you can just close the netbook (just leave it on, but closed) and work on your monitor + mouse/keyboard like a regular PC.

This should be a good laptop to fulfill everything you ask for.
If you are able to spend a few extra bucks, these options are a lot better, both for overall power and for battery life.
