AFKing terminates the game.

Describe the problem. Be as specific as possible!:
It's pretty simple: I do nothing. Maple closes. This ruins me for FM. I know 2 other people who have experienced this. I also look in my Windows Task Manager and I see the MB maplestory.exe takes shoots up to the thousands, (or millions. I'd have to widen the manager next time I it plain freezes)

this happens to me randomly, but not often, however, if i windowsLock, it's almost guaranteed to DC in a couple hours tops

For me. I sit and do nothing for like, 1 hour or so, to even 12. But it ALWAYS d/cs. This happens when I leave it completely open, being I can see the ms screen. It doesn't happen w/ the login screen, and I haven't tried it with the game window down.

This is part of a larger DC issue likely pertaining to memory leaks, it is unrelated to your AFKing.

Why only when I do nothing though? Or does it happen on other occasions, because this is the only time I have experienced this, since it only started happening for me when I regained my Internet.

I DC at random times, doing different things each time. Sometimes I'm in LHC (those were fishy DCs though since my party DCed with me), sometimes I've got a shop open, sometimes I'm talking about how much I hate mystery mastery books, sometimes I'm attacking. You can't use three people to confirm it's when you AFK any more than I can use my own example to confirm it's not only when you AFK.

I wasn't using 2 others as proof. That is why I posted it here. I wanted to know what was going on, or if it is my own fault. But yes; it only happens if I am not around my character. Otherwise it will d/c. I have never encountered this while I WAS on my character, which rather reasons me to think it only happens when I am not inputing actions to my character.
That lionheart castle thing...that happened to me once. The screen froze. came back and no one was there. My friend logged on and asked if I was d/cd too. Course i think that was a different story.

Top one is gMS, bottom one is kMS.
Quite scary tbh.

And what you don't see is the memory it's pretending not to use... I've got 16 gigs on my desktop, and when I shut down MS (after a few days running) I've seen it clear 13+GB of memory at times. Luckily Win 7 seems pretty good about actually retrieving the leaked memory, so I don't need to reboot.

If you don't like MS shutting down on its own all the time, what I can suggest is set a huge page file (like, 50 gigs), that should be able to carry you between server checks. Or just restart the game really frequently (it seems to generate about 4GB of leaks a day? I never measured accurately)

about the LHC one though, was it a glitched map? i've had it happen that a map sort of like "overglitches" for some reason, and becomes a mapcrasher.

..
Does it only not free on 7? I haven't noticed it doing that on XP at all...I only have 2GB of memory so I can't let it get too high. Though it crashes while using less memory than my Terraria server, go pineappleing figure...
I can get it to free some of the stuff it's taking up by constant graphics switching, it stops working when the game doesn't lag on switches but it does some decent damage control. Doesn't really help at bosses too well cause I seem to always be switching too late before the windows, HP bar/body and chat start bugging out on me. Or in PvP's case, the characters disappear.

I'm experiencing this issue since yesterday, but that's probably because I left maple open for 80+hours trying to sell things -_-. So it will fixes itself on it's own if I left my comp closed for a long time?

I don´t get it anymore. Yesterday I got dced over 8 times after a freaking server check to ´´increase server instability´´
Pff I have WAY more stability issues then before.
