Aesop's Citation Thread
#1
This is whenever I find interesting tidbits about the game and cite them, probably only relevant to classes I'll play. Probably more for myself because I'm like that, but yeah. Feel free to likewise offer cool random details, or dispute things.

Eventual Basic Character Change

Difference Between Ancient Elven Ring and Lala Miss Dragon - Lala Miss Dragon Does Not Stack Hence 15% Int Increase Only
- Ancient Elven Ring Stacks Twice 9% Each Time For A Total Of 18% (Additive) - Ask Mark
- Both rings only increase base int to note as well
- Verified, this means that hybrid magic/phys classes (i.e. BMs/Spits/Fmechs/Asuras) need not to opt for Ancient Elven Ring unless they want that 3% difference. But of course this means that for every other magic class this is the only ring to get. Obviously Ancient Elven Ring best ring ever etc.

Unlimited Sprite File Sizes - Any mods are possible now.

Third Strike

22 Elemental Points = 10% Damage - Confirmed since resistance works in same behaviour and self tested.

Man, I hate those asian video sites. They never load properly for me.

But this is missing some info about elemental damage working on a dual element weapon.
#6
Oh right, thanks.

Capricorn Wrote:22 Elemental Points = 10% Damage - Confirmed since resistance works in same behaviour and self tested.

Under #5, I think this guy explains it pretty well. Then again I'm just reading the math though. If it doesn't seem to make sense still I can explain it better.

double post mod delete this hnng ty e_e

Oh. He basically says it is fine if you have a dual element weapon as long as fire damage is stacked higher than light. So, Passion Chakra will override the Khai buff.
#9
...that...that ambush tombstone...

I will go to the ends of the earth for that.

Pretty much, if you stack it hard enough the light bonus from khai will be neglected unless the monster has a weakness to it. So stacking multiple elements isn't a bad thing since the game mechanics will always mostly operate into your favour as much as possible.

If you ever need video, I can download it for you and re-upload it to a file sharing site for a viewing pleasure. <3

Capricorn Wrote:Currently only Bracelet is out.

What? All three of those Accessories are out. I'm working on those Feat quests right now.

Capricorn Wrote:For Felix and Hitrate

But my question isn't whether Hit Rate affects both Magic and Physical skills. I had little doubt that it did. I want to know for sure it affects both melee and non-melee. I don't know which Asura skills are melee and which are non-melee. How many non-melee skills did he use in that video? Ghost Orb? If you can confirm for me he used multiple non-melee skills, that would be good enough for me.
#18
I can't really say what differentiates melee from non-melee, as it's sort of a matter of semantics. As a Ranger, I use a ranged default attack that takes on the elemental attribute of a weapon. For simplicity, generally the waves (which only take on the element of their skill) are considered ranged. I'm not sure about Wave Wheel Slasher and Wave Radiation, so I'll just list the hits as follows, in order of the video.

Neutral Wave Sword: 2 hits, 2 misses
Normal Slashes: 3 hits
Wave Wheel Slasher: 1 hit upon contact grab, 20 hits with wheel spin
Wave Radiation: 1 hit
Neutral Wave Sword: 2 hits
Asura Spirit Crescent: 3 hits
Wave Wheel Slasher: 1 hit upon contact grab, 19 hits with the wheel spin
Neutral Wave Sword: 1 hit
Ice Wave Sword: no connects
Wave Radiation: 1 hit
Neutral Wave Sword: 1 miss
Normal Slashes: 1 hit
Wave Wheel Slasher: 1 hit upon contact grab, 7 hits with wheel spin
Neutral Wave Sword: 1 hit
Ice Wave Sword: 4 hits
Ghost Orb: 21 hits
Asura Spirit Crescent: 7 hits, 1 miss
Neutral Wave Sword: 2 hits
Wave Wheel Slasher: 1 hit upon contact grab, 8 hits with wheel spin
Fire Wave Sword: 1 hit
Neutral Wave Sword: 1 hit

I'll let Alex tell you which ones are melee and which ones aren't, since I'm no Asura buff.
#19
I can pretty much confirm hit rate works on Magic classes. I've had it since patch day and I could notice a difference right away. Some mobs in Oceanic Express have stupid evasion for some reason. (Scarbelly, and some of those Merman champions.) But everything else I rarely miss on Kings and Hero's roads.
#20
Melee: NWS, Radiation, WWS, Basic X

Ranged: FWS, IWS, Ghost Orb, ASC

So he pretty much used an equal amount of both.
