gallant emblems and alchemy

Q: Do gallant emblems have any use in alchemy/blackmithing?

I'm asking because I'll be mostly pvp'ing on my mage, and I also wanted him to have alchemy. But it just struck me that would be a huge waste if gallant emblems can only be used in jewel crafting.

Gallant Emblems are only used in the making of Shoulderpads, level 130 equipment and the special level 70 set.

Uh...yeah, and more. It's used in pretty much every set item (lotta sets out there now), tons of jewel crafting things, it's used all over the place for a lot of different items.
