It just so happens that it is just now that people find out that the shoulder pads are untradable. Just shows you how tough the event is to get insignias without mass teleport powers. xD

Is it even possible to get the required amount of insignias at this point without being at pretty much every fight?

And is the shoulderpad itself worth it? I keep hearing about an update which allows you to get better shoulderpads.

Chaos, with a jeweler in your account, you can create shoulderpads, belts and more, so doing the enormus effort for these is kinda pointless.

At this moment it currently is possible as the person on Sleepywood has obtained it. However it was also because she could teleport to nearly EVERY SINGLE BATTLE and obtain he maximum number of insignias each time. Which is basically saying: stay online 24/7 in order to get this damned thing.

I don't think getting 400 insigs is possible without, at the minimum, sharing the account with others to be online 24/7 because this event is only a few days old, and before the mini patch it was much harder to get insigs.

As for people saying it's pointless to get these shoulderpads because better ones are coming out, I say you're silly. That's like saying it's pointless to get a new weapon right now because you can make one soon with the new chaos profession systems.

Do you all seem to forget that you need to level up those profession skills to 10 before you can be sure you'll make those top tier items? And, if i'm not mistaken, there's a cap to how much exp towards those levels you can earn per day? It's not like Chaos will come out and BAM new level 130 gear will be for sale in the fm for affordable prices and everyone can equip themselves with fancy new belts and earrings and face accessories rofl.

These cake should pads are about the equivalent of a level 90 Shoulder.

No.

110s give 8 to a stat and 4 att, 120s give 9 to a stat and 5 att, and the 130 gives 10 to a stat and 6 att.

The 100 recipes (7 to a stat and 4 attack) can be obtained through an NPC for paltry amounts of mesos and the hardest thing to get to forge it is hours spent doing PvP. Hours that will be more fun and take up less overall time than CvP will.

And I'd say that anyone heavily investing in new weapons right now is rather dumb for precisely that reason.
Much like those who continuously made Red Katanas were silly considering that Pyropes were right over the horizon.

That said, I wouldn't blame you for getting the shoulder pad now if you're doing the Cake v Pie anyway.
If you could still get White Scrolls, then, yes, it'd be quite ludicrous to get the Shoulderpad instead.

The only reason it's not pointless to make a new weapon now is because you can add stats with Maker.

It's not entirely dumb, because you can't add +Stats with the new profession system in Chaos. Pretty much once we lose Maker, we lose the +Stat inducing crystals as well.

Oh sweet, they added Matk as well. Still waiting on Chaos though.

I'd rather get lots of Apples and BBQs etc. from the gift box. Plus the small chance of obtaining EQ...
