OoT 3DS... Limited Quantity? Let me go cry my eyes out...

Quote:The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS has a new trailer, just released by Nintendo. The trailer shows some of the updated graphics, although the biggest improvement, 3D, isn't actually visible. One thing they obviously haven't changed is the audio. Those same melodies from the N64 are heard in this trailer and they are sucking me in! I don't want to buy a $250 piece of hardware for a game I already have, three times! How can I possibly resist the sounds of Hyrule though?

Not only will I have to cave to my own zeld-addiction but it looks like I might have to suck it up and pre-order too. According to Shinobi, Nintendo will only be shipping Zelda: OoT 3DS in limited quantities, with less than 150,000 copies in Japan. A similar launch might be planned for the US as well. Of course game stores are taking pre-orders and Nintendo could easily ship more than they are planning if they see a demand for them.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS will be released exclusively for the 3DS on June 19.

It looks like I won't be getting my hands on this gem if they decide to do the same for the United States. :|

Goddamn it. I don't even have my 3DS yet, and there's a chance I could miss this.

Mom be damned, this must be pre-ordered.

I have a 3DS currently, but I do not think I will need to pre-order because the install base for the 3DS right now is still miniscule compared to the DS, so as long as I go there on like day 1 to pick it up, which I will do, I should get it no sweat.

If I can't buy it... I'LL STEAL IT. Your fault Nintendo, great opportunity to take my money, but I guess you don't want it?

Actually, since I have $88 in cash lying around in my wallet, going to waste, I think I may do this too. Maybe this'll give me more incentive to save up for a 3DS faster. While I'm at it, I should pre-order Skyward Sword.

Limited quantity on one of the most popular games they've ever released? Nice job Nintendo, I'll be spending my money else where.

NO MATTER WHAT. EVEN IF I HAVE TO KILL SOMEONE.

But, really? I mean, that's STUPID. I don't think Nintendo will do that. 3DS sales have not been that high because of the lack of games, this is going to be THE SELLER. THIS is what's going to boost 3DS sales TO INFINITY AND BEYOND. Obviously they made this game for milking (not that I have any problem, as they also added tons of new features), and they won't do something like that.

Why the f'uck would they do this? Wouldn't they just be losing money? It's pointless.

No fucking way this is going to be limited. It's obvious, considering OoT's huge fanbase, that only 150,000 copies aren't gonna be enough.

This is just the first shipment. Considering how 3DS's sales is going on in Japan (worse than expected IIRC) and how the gaming market has suffered with the recent incidents over there, it's safe to assume that Nintendo is just being more cautious.

They might do something like a "golden cartridge" limited version though, just like they did with the N64's Zeldas.

I'll still get it, but for those that can't get your hands on it, there are always alternatives. They're not available this early in the system's life though, and probably won't be available for a while.

It'd be nice if it wasn't region locked though.
