Those Whose Items Mysteriously Disappeared
#1
Nexon finally responded to my ticket that I sent 3 months ago about losing my Level 17 Evo Ring through the Storage glitch..

(Where if you log out instantly, item disappear forevers)

So I told them about the glitch.. and losing my ring 3 months ago..

And they gave me their classic response:

Thank you for reporting this issue. We are currently aware of this issue that players are having and are working to resolve this.
Please be patient while this is being investigated.
I recommend you keep an eye on the MapleStory website at http://maplestory.nexon.net/ for any updates or information.
Thank you for your understanding and support.

Sincerely,
GM Tekonos

Nexon America Inc.
If GM Tekonos could go anywhere, he would go to Pluto so that he could console it about not being a planet.
Security Tip: Please do not give your password, PIN, or PIC number to anyone for any reason. Nexon representatives will NEVER ask you for your password, PIN, or PIC.

Just give me my pineappling ring back Hothead
So to those who also lost items through this glitch, there's your answer.. check the website Tongue

I find it funny that for an automated message, GM Tekonos felt the need to put in one completely pointless piece of signature which detracts even more from the "professionalism" that Nexon upholds.

And to Punch, sorry for your loss. :/

If Nexon gives you your ring back, I'll be kind of pissed off. They told me my ring was impossible to restore! Tongue

They are still working on giving my GF the mesos she lost due to the hellban incident.

When you get the "We are investigating this issue... keep an eye on our website" response, you know you're fu'cked.

You aren't going to get your ring back. That's their policy.

When I lost my STR Icarus cape during the last mass rollback, they told me just that.
They're under no obligation to restore your item or compensate you.
Fact is, unless it's a massive issue, they won't do anything about it.

This.
In case it's not enough that they blow you off entirely, offering no assistance.
Seeing those moronic signatures just frustrates me more.
It's like trying calm a child whose fish died, but instead of leaving it at "there's nothing we can do; he's gone to a better place," they scream out "I LIKE MUNKEHS!" like a raving lunatic.

PS. "Automated response" is an abused term. More than likely, it's a template. That means that some low-level customer support worker saw it, decided that it wasn't something that would be further addressed, and closed it with the prewritten text.

Except, is IS massive problem..

The storage glitch caused many to lose their items.. hence the "mysterious disappearance of items"

That's not totally true.

When the codes Logitech sent me for mine and my brother's gamepads didn't work, they sent me that same exact message (with a different GM fact).

So I sent them back:
"Yeah, seeing as I paid for a product, I'm going to need more than template response. Please forward some working codes so that we can get our promised rewards."

Their response:
"It is acknowledged that the issue has been resolved. I'm sorry that I was not able to assist you sooner.

If this issue continues to persist, you may resubmit a ticket with your character name, server, and the time that this issue occurred. Any other detailed information that may further assist us with this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Have a wonderful day!

GM Fact: GM Tekonos found a time machine! When time traveling, he does not need a car to hit 88 miles an hour--he just runs that fast.

Security Tip: Please do not give your password, PIN, or PIC number to anyone for any reason. Nexon representatives will NEVER ask you for your password, PIN, or PIC."

I was really pissed at this point because it was, of course, another template response making me assume that they were not actually dealing with the issues.
To give them the benefit of the doubt though, I tried one of the codes once again...
...and it actually worked.

Depending on the issue, you can get a solution. As someone who has experience in Tier I support, I can tell you that there are plenty of slackers who don't give a damn about your problems and won't properly escalate them.
If the problem matters to you, be persistent.

That's different though because you paid for a product. It's much different if it isn't CS or anything purchased related, such as his hellban mesos. I do understand your point though, however their priorities aren't in "in game items".

I don't follow how "the 'mysterious disappearance of items'" implies that many were lost.

Also, 'many' tells me nothing. You can say that it was a massive problem, but I never heard of it. That's not to make me the definitive last word on whether something is significant, but, between my brothers and myself, I tend to hear about large uprisings in Maple.

Well, I do regret saying "If the problem matters to you, be persistent," so plainly. What I should have said was "If the problem matters to you, don't settle for the template response."

Yes, in most cases, you're SOL unless you can use some financial leverage.
You'll never get lost mesos back, and items can be assumed gone as well.
As I said, they're under no obligation to restore such things, and it would be quite a bit of work for them to verify the situation.

Unfortunately, no one is going to get any of their stuff back through situations like this and the people who pop up claiming they did are liars unless they give the proper proof (e-mails, etc.)

There is no proof that you lost your ring in storage, nor is there proof that there are people doing it just to get a free item or meso.

I am not saying you are lying...I have heard that at times people lose items via storage (had a friend have it happen to him with some really nice INT gear)...but if all Nexon needs is for one person to let everyone know that they gave them their item back for the tickets to be flooding in.

It sucks but that's the way it rolls...in a few months you'll be able to make rings that are close enough on par with the evolving ring so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
