~Intro~
Ok, guys. I have this laptop with a multitude of problems on it. I had made a thread earlier about one specific problem, but since that got me nowhere (but thanks to everyone who posted there) , I've made this thread.
~Summary~
The laptop is a IBM Thinkpad 600x with a Pentium 3 processor. I know it's bad but I still want to get it running. The CMOS battery is new, but the actual battery (see figure 2) is completely dead, thus I have to use the AC adapter to get power on the laptop.
(Figure 1) This is the laptop:
(Figure 2) This is the battery[Dead]:
~The Problem(s)~
Ok, now onto the actual issue.
After I plug in the AC adapter and external mouse(Not a USB one, the error causes the trackpoint not to function, thus I have to use a mouse) I boot up the computer.
The first thing I see is the black IBM screen(See figure 3) with the phrase "196032 KB OK" in the top left hand corner right below it says "8611" (See figure 4)

(Figure 3) Black IBM Screen:
(Figure 4) Left Hand Corner at boot up:
Now after that happens, I'm greeted with this screen (See Figure 5).
(Figure 5) Error
As you can see I'm prompted with two options. "OK and Restart".
Ok will bring to the screen shows in (Figure 6), and then no keys on the keyboard will respond and I must restart the system to start back at Figure 3.
(Figure 6) Button prompt for OK:
Restart on the other hand blackens the screen for a second and then pops up a window with "8611 = NOT OK >>[Picture of manual]." (See Figure 7)
(Figure 7) 8611 is not OK:
Now from "Figure 7", I have three options. I can push CTRL+ALT+DEL and that will bring me back to "Figure 3" and the whole process will repeat again. I can also just shut down the laptop. The last option is pushing the F1 Key. This key will allow me to bypass the screen in "Figure 7", and advance to the Windows Loading Screen (See Figure 8).
I have realized that for some reason, If there is a CD in my CD Drive, while in this process, pushing F1 WILL NOT allow me to advance to the Windows Loading Screen, but instead it will send me back to "Figure 5".
(Figure 8) Windows Loading Screen
From here another problem begins.
Previously I had given this laptop to my friend as he said he would try to fix it. He did not fix and 8611 error and he installed a pirated copy of Windows. Now After the screen in "Figure 8", I receive a Windows Verification screen (See Figure 9).

(Figure 9) Windows Verification Screen
Now as this is a pirated copy from my friend, Windows will obviously not verify it. Also I do not have internet access on the laptop at the moment, as I cannot access my OS to install a wireless card and direct connect simply doesn't work.
Now some of you might say, run another Windows version from the BioS and then load that OS on. But that's the problem. My BioS button for this laptop by default is F1. But nowhere in any of the processes listed above am I given the option "Press F1 for Bios" or anything like that. Also, nowhere in the above processes can pushing F1 access the BioS at all. the only time F1 does anything at all is in "Figure 7" when it allows the Windows Loading Screen to start.
~Error 8611~
Error 8611 is described as an error with the trackpoint on the laptops keyboard. It's the little red dot used for a mouse, in between the G H and B keys. I think if I can get into windows, I know of a way to disable it, but I would have to try.
~End~
I can get a CD of Windows on it and there is no material I am trying to save on the Hard Drive thus, I will wipe it.
I just want a way to access windows again, and if possible, stop the stupid 8611 error from happening, but the main thing I want is to be able to get into windows again.
So If you were one of the people who actually read this (On of the longest computer related threads you'll ever see), then thanks, and if you have any information as to how I can fix my problem then thanks a bunch.
But ultimately I'm asking HELP!
