Cartoon Network Cancels “Sym-Bionic Titan”
#1
CarttonBrew Wrote:Cartoon Network announced its new slate of series yesterday, but most of the on-line chatter is about the cancellation of Genndy Tartakovsky’s confusingly named Sym-Bionic Titan which lasted exactly one season of twenty episodes. Steve Hulett of the Animation Guild reported what he heard while wandering the halls of Cartoon Network:

“Genddy’s moved on to Sony Pictures Animation. Titan got competitive ratings with other action shows, but what shut it down was it didn’t have enough toys connected to it. If you don’t have the, the studios don’t want to renew for another season.”

The obligatory “save the show” page on Facebook currently has just over 300 members.

One of the only cartoons out for this generation with a dark storyline, unique animation and art, well developed written characters that go beyond cookie cutter stereotypes... was canceled. Ladies and Gentlemen taste is dead in the cartoon industry and only the sub par is welcome among the viewing community.

(I need to laugh this off so I posted this in the funhouse... sucks I found this out on April Fools but as far as i know it's true)

This constitutes the death of taste in the cartoon industry?

I thought the death of taste was when Toonami went off air and then the flood of worthless shows (like reality shows... on a f'ucking cartoon TV station...) started filling every block.

That gave it a heart attack. This pulled the plug on it's life support.

Hmm, you wanted to say that Cartoon Network is dead right? You are just watching the wrong cartoons/channel.

There is a whole new world waiting you on other seas. When you start thinking that all the shows you are watching are bad it probably means that you should change for something different, maybe try something that you nomally thought was bad and not for you.

Dragon Ball Z and Gundam Wing stole the spotlight for Toonami for me. Those times were amazing. I was in middle school at the time, I think. Then, when I started going to high school, they ditched the good shows and started adding these weird f'ucking shows like Bobobo bobo bobobo or whatever the hell, Zach Bell, and all of those other crappy shows. The early days of Toonami were the sh'it.

Most of the writing involves bad puns and product placements, the characters are 1 dimensional with no definition beyond being puns based on their names, the animation is ONLY good because of it's simplistic art style (same reason why stick figure fight flashes have good and fluid animation), and lastly the story is predictable and bland.

Go watch Batman the Animated series (pre-Disney) or Animainiacs before you tell me what is or isn't a good quality show. Until then you can stop tying to justify your actions in indulging in such blandness by attempting to convert people to your near religious obsession with such mediocrity.

That's another reason why I'm pissed, your cooperate masturbation of a show gets a huge ass budget for being no less then a 22 minute commercial while shows like Titan and programs like Toonami get a crap-tastic deal and get cancelled due to something stupid like a lack of toys.

Dragoball Z never ended, it will never end, GT was only a fallacy of a fetus where DBZ simply took a break from it's ass kickery.

I was going to respond to your argument but it's just full of assumptions that it's worthless.

About the only thing I assume is
1. You watch My Little Pony
2. You haven't watched Batman or Aaimainiacs recently.

Everything else is accurate, I've watched my little pony and that's about what it amounts to, mediocrity. If your dissatisfied with my reaction towards the show then in the words of Starfire from the far superior series Teen Titans: "Go away now please."

Do you want me to explain why I like My Little Pony so much that I'd be watching it over Teen Titans (which was a very good show)?
1. I'm a sucker for controversial stuff, watching My Little Ponies is extremely bizarre for me so I enjoy doing it. It's also fun how everyone is so polarized about it, either they love it or they hate it.

2. It's awesome to be watching a show with such a huge community producing content about it daily in ammounts far too great to keep up.

3. I love having different experiences, this show is my first time watching a cartoon primarily made for girls. It's a completely different experience and with the way the show is so GOOD it's awesome.

4. I can't stress enough how good the community is, between ponychan, the 24/7 streaming channel, equestriadaily, the writepapayas, the drawpapayas, /co/, ponibooru, paheal.rule34, pony games, pony videos, cupcakes and the constant creation of new memes and catch phrases you simply avoid getting involved. Also everyone is generally friendly inside and won't ostacize new people.

5. You grow attached to the characters.

6. Taking part in an internet phenomena is fun.

7. Trolling people who hate the show is infinitely fun, they fall for it everytime.

Shidoshi it sounds like you like that show mostly because there are other crazy people online for you to discuss how pink the episode was or something like that.

That's like joining a book club because you want to be in a club and not because you like books. Do you REALLY like this stuff over something like Teen Titans?

Teen Titans was badass. Except when they kept finding other people to recruit. That kind of pissed me off.
