Spiral Knights

I recently found about a free to play neat mmo action game called Spiral Knights. It plays a lot like zelda but with mmorpg-like attributes. When I say it plays a lot like zelda, I really mean it and you can tell the designers were influenced by it.

I should mention there is no 1GB download for the setup. In fact, it's a very quick process to start playing(took me 5 minutes). I say this game is at least worth a try. It's pretty fun and seems like a very interesting take on the free to play model.

Southperry had a Spiral Knights craze a month or two ago.. Unless there's new content, I probably won't start up playing again.

It's still in closed beta? Holy sh'it. I would have expected at least open beta by now... It's been months since its initial closed beta debute.

It's very possible to solo most of the low-level dungeons, actually.

Until you meet Zombies. God, I hate Zombies. They'll just keep reviving if that Skull-shaped block is close enough; you have to pick the block up and throw it in a corner, then lure the Zombies to the other corner and kill them there...they were the main reason I lost all motivation to play the game. >.>

Fun game, but I stopped playing due to beta. I'll look at picking it up once it releases for good.

The characters look like the ones from Lost Saga.

Joined/decided to try when I saw SEGA say something about. Seemed interesting from what was said on the SP thread.
Good for casual fun, energy costs are annoying, also bought 1,600 CE.
PvP was fun when randomly doing it, but without gear restrictions, it's really dependent on who you're playing with, in my experience, it wasn't very fun. It's not fun to get one shotted after you respawn!
Love the retro/classic stuff, plays a lot like Ys, control-wise (lots of Oath in Felghana~ made getting used to SK easy).
Nice seeing lots of updates, changes, and patching. But, when the server goes down for an update, it's really irritating to lose energy/lose your progress. Currently waiting to play today! Must..reserve names!
Sadly, I mostly solo'd through T2. After managing 2 stars, I did start duoing with my friend, fun fun. The times I ended up partying were kind of lame. It's a nice game if you can get teamwork and coordination.

It's not really an issue considering that it's only ~1.2k crowns to get 100 energy right now. Doing a full tier 1 run can give you 3-4k so just buy more energy?

Yep. Back when I was playing, me and a guy I ran into were doing the battle dungeons (IIRC, they're red? The ones where you're in a square arena and fight waves of monsters) and then buying energy to continue going. Very fun.

As much fun as i had, the moment i went into the training grounds with another guy i lagged so much im not sure how i managed to get to the end without disconnecting..

I've been looking for a new game that's free and fun to play with my roommates, looks like this is it.

The fatigue system made it extremely boring.

The energy system is really horrible for new players, with the rising CE prices, it'll take longer for new people to gather crowns for said energy. They should really adjust the generating rates (5 ME : 1 hour) since not everyone can/wants to pay after starting. Hopefully, now that it's official, more people play/pay, and more CE goes into the market. I mean, 75 cents is a bit cheap and could work well to start you off.
