What would dinosaurs taste like?
#1
Since we'll never get to eat them, I'm suddenly curious about what they would taste like.

I'm thinking some sort of birdy flavour, seeing as birds descended from them. Any other thoughts? And don't just say a random flavour, please try to justify it in some way.

They would have probably tasted like rotten roast beef.

Whatever crocodiles or alligators taste like. Redface

And I heard the closest living relative of the Tyrannosaurus Rex is the chicken, so they could possibly taste like chicken..?:f6:

When in doubt, go with chicken.

I dunno about chicken, a least, for a T-Rex. I mean, what meat tastes like depends on their diet, and a T-Rex and a chicken have very different diets.

EDIT : What does alligator/crocodile actually taste like? I refuse to eat it because it's blasphemous. *points at avatar*

Uh... Alligator is super chewy and tasted "very gamey" I know that doesn't help, but I couldn't get past the fact how hard to chew it was.

Who says we'll never be able to eat it? :p

I think we'll have the technology to resurrect some extinct species in the next 20-30 years.

Hmm, let's see. Dinosaurs are considered as reptiles, what's the closest to that? Komodo Dragon, Iguana, Alligator, Crocodile, etc. I'd assume it'd taste something like those. I've tried alligator meat, and I must say.. "IT REALLY DOESN'T TASTE LIKE CHICKEN OR BEEF, YOU MORONS!", ok, I'm done. But it does taste similar, in a sense. -shrugs- I'd assume it'd taste very similar to a Komodo Dragon, haha. Komodos are one of the closest creatures to dinosaurs, iirc? I think it's a relative of the Tyrannosaurus Rex too, feel free to correct me on it if I'm wrong.

toon alligator only have less than 1k atk and you call it blasphemous? a little horus the black flame dragon lvl 4 can kick it's ass easily.

i think T-Rex would taste like beef. all meats can be categorized as tasting like either beef, chicken or fish.

what about pork? D=

but alligator, IMO, taste like chicken, only dryer and more "wild" tasting.

Dinosaurs COULD taste like chicken if you're into the whole evolution thingy where the chickens evolved from dinosaurs that could fly and stuff...

TASTE LIKE CHICKEN.

We're already resurrecting the mammoth, which I find funny. However, they need about 50 years or so before the first mammoth which is genetically 99.7% (or something) similar to the original DNA a mammoth got. They're injecting DNA from mammoths to elephant-eggs, but only parts of it. Well, uh, they dissect the DNA of both animals, and clip them back in. They're using the elephant since it's the animal with the closest genes to the mammoth.

However, if a chicken is the closest related living animal to a t-rex... It would take time to make a T-rex. Looking on the bright side though, we'll have a lot of funny chickens on the market in the near future if this happens.
