That's not funny. The kid was a little pomegranate but that is really horrible and that bigger kid could've killed the little one.

Sometimes you gotta teach kids it's not a good idea to piss off someone two times bigger than you are.

Kids do need to be taught that it's not okay to bully anyone but laughing at and encouraging this sort of behaviour leads to more of it.

He was defending himself. Laughing at the little kid is fine in this situation. But if it was the other way around and tubby smashed the shrimp for no reason, then yeah it wouldn't be (as) funny.

I grew up being bullied from grade 1 to grade 10 (when I started becoming a f'ucking giant). The only thing that WILL stop an ignorant prick like this is to beat the living f'uck out of them. There's no words or teachings that will convince them otherwise.

Absolutely wrong. I was bullied when I was young and later in life became a bully so I've seen both sides of the issue. Bullies need to be taught empathy and NOT through vicious attacks. As a child it seems like defending yourself is the best option but we're all adults here and we know better. Or we should, but apparently most of you don't.

He could have severe brain or spinal trauma and looks to have a concussion and wouldn't be surprising if that was the least of his problems. If you think he deserves that just because he treated someone else poorly then you need to seriously grow up and re-evaluate what sort of conduct is appropriate for society.

Sorry. No amount of lecturing or empathy is going to stop a bully. It has never worked, and never will work. Only way to get a bully off your back is to humble him with your fists. Or the pavement if you're Haggar Jr. up there.

There's nothing wrong with defending yourself. The kid was clearly hitting the other kid, so he had every right to defend himself.

Maybe there's a difference between female and male bullies? When I grew up, no matter what I did, no matter who I told about it, I had these kids torturing me throughout my entire life in school. The only thing I could have done differently was beat the living f'uck out of them and that's what everyone told me to do -- even my parents, but I didn't do it because it was against me. However, I see now that was my only shot at getting rid of them. There's no changing a person's mindset without drastic measures and the only drastic measures you can take against a bully like that is to beat the living f'uck out of them until you can't beat them anymore. What you're saying seems like saying, "These murderers shouldn't be put in prison! They should be taught that they shouldn't kill!"

An eye for an eye, remember? This is how it's been since the dawn of man and this is the way it'll be until the day we all go extinct.

There are other ways besides just a lecture. You can put them in educational situations without actually putting them in danger.

All of this said, I know for sure that fighting back helps as a child and I don't necessarily think it's the worst thing in the world if they exchange some blows of their own volition but when it happens, we as adults can't sit back and condone it and laugh about it.

Counter-violence is only going to get rid of your problem; it does not stop anyone from bullying. That said, I don't really know a way to really stop anyone from bullying beside (one way or another) getting it in their head that they aren't capable of bullying anyone.

Sure we can, when it doesn't promote bullying.

If I ever have a kid of my own, which is a very, very, very long shot, I'm going to teach him how to defend himself if he has to. If he becomes the bully, I'll beat the f'uck out of him -- not the abusive father way, but in the Martial Art "I'm going to teach you how you should be" way.

I don't stand for that kind of sh'it and I promote revolution (cliche word? maybe, but it's perfect). In fact, I'd promote having my kid take care of bullies for other children who get bullied, because justice must be done and the only way to get rid of this bullying sh'it is to teach a whole generation to fight bullying fist by fist.

Yeah, I was a verbal bully. Then I saw the effect that sort of treatment can have on people and did a complete one-eighty.

edit: It's really a good thing most of you will probably never have kids.

Did "emo" just get a new definition? I thought it was used as a term of hate toward those who are over-dramatic about how their life is horrible and how they should just kill themselves.


What I'm doing here isn't being emo, though I will admit I've been to that extent in the past. What I'm doing here is promoting the firm hand of justice.
