Ban message, still playing.

Anyways, I went to go check if there were the two ropes in Crimsonwood Keep to see if I would get banned.

Looking around Bent tree, I noticed that there was two ropes.
I disconnected. No message whatsoever.
After freaking out, I noticed I can log in again.
So I did.
I disconnected five seconds later.
So I logged in again.
Then I used a nearest town scroll.
So, I decided I'll redownload Maplestory tomorrow, so I went hoodoo/voodoo hunting.
After walking a little bit, an npc message popped up. In the npc picture, there was a GM npc (you know, the ones in every town) saying

You have been BANNED for hacking purposes.

And I promptly disconnected.
And freaking out even more, I noticed I could still log in.
So I did.
Plus, I'm still on the rankings.
Right now, I'm redownloading Maplestory.

Strange how I didn't get banned, yet after all of those disconnections and that message O_o.

I think if you restart computer right when that appear or close MS...nothing happens !

Right click -> properties your map.wz file then look at the size (not size on disk)

428,198,693 bytes should be the size.

If its anything else then you'll get bannished.

That message pops up since the Ariant patch (I think), so I guess it's the auto-ban system of KMS. It doesn't even always work properly. It doesn't always ban you when you see that message. And it has an horrible translation, as you can see.

Still, if you didn't get banned for that, it probably means they fixed it, so even if you have corrupted WZ files from the manual patch (I think that's why you were getting d/ced?) it just disconnects you, and doesn't ban you.

And,i heard if you close MS without clicking on Ok(Alt + Enter,then Alt + f4 D,it doesnt ban you

Disconnects when clicking the ok-button, banned before the popup comes up. Game Masters can do it, the program should thus be able to do it.

Redownloaded Maplestory today, and I'm still on rankings.

here here. i avoid CWK like the freaking plague! even tho it's so mage-friendly amirite? still if it had monsters i could 1hko same as skeles but gave even 100 more exp, i'd still avoid it at all costs. if i ever saw a ban msg popup on me-even a harmless one-i'd prolly crap my pants LOL then raise hell at potential NX loss etc etc.

new expansion is supposedly for higher levels right? damm im gonna wait a few weeks for random bans and have to buy a hella lotta VIP rocks back and forth to one safe map. (i do this now with our HSmule at CGs as walking thru the first map instabanned F3)

Molly, CW is safe if your game data is correct. (See this discussion for details.) Come the next patch, I bet everyone whose maps are still bad will be forced to re-download the whole game, because the patcher won't work, so this should be "fixed" then.
