Those Bad Maple Days..
#1
I for one, have had a lot of them..

Some of my most popular experiences that make me wanna rage-quit and shut my laptop off:
- Dying at Bosses
Especially when you can't re-enter the boss or there's limited times a day
- Dying when Training
Sometimes worse than bosses, losing 10% and omg losing my 1.2x EXP buff sucks
- Exploding Equips
'nuff said, makes me wanna quit sometimes Cool
- Going Poor
Investing all your money into something or a few things that you wind up losing anyways
- KSed
Not as much anymore, but it annoys the pinappleys out of me Hothead
- Events
When events cause you to spend a lot of time or NX and wind up not worth your time/money.. you're just like Eek

Etc.. there's so much fail in Maple these days Tongue

My question to you is, how do you turn these bad experiences upside down and make the best of them?
Or, how do you forget about them and make up for what you lost/did?

Killed BGA/BGB last night. Went to loot. Grandpa summons. Hit for 5k. Death. Go to O4 for i guess an hour and train to where my % was before i died. Wasn't that hard to recover from actually.

Was killing Dodos on my Aran looking for Overswing 30 and I died multiple times and some guy said Arans are weak because he saw my damage

It was quite a while ago though, like, early last year.

I noticed that a lot of people, even over the level 166 necessary for ~100% hit rate, seem to prefer O4 to O5. This question is not directed specifically to you, but is there a reason why this is? I think O5's map is much better suited for cycling, am I doing something wrong?

On topic and related to O4, O5, etc.:
Background:
 Spoiler

During training I died and in a rage rush to get back to training because I wanted my EXP back, I teleported head first into a mob and died because I forgot to MG, 14ish% gone in a matter of seconds.

Buying a MW20 book and failing it, then rage buying a second and failing it too. Up to 4 failed MW20 so far. Oh yea, I can't afford what MW20 was supposed to help me equip even if I any of the MW20 had passed.

Morals of my stories: Don't rage when something happens contrary to your expectations. Take a moment to recollect yourself and think about your next move.

Addendum: Not so bad, but knowing exactly when a boss (Anego for example) will spawn and getting there seconds after it spawned with someone else enjoying her services.

I don't know how to cycle O5 and a random seduce could kill me if i don't esc up enter in time. I didn't get more %/h at O5 vs O4 pre-BB so there isn't any real reason that i would get more % there now.

I sold my WGs, then exploded two UWG Guns, tried to enhance two of my equips, both blew up on the first enhance, and lost 50m failing at scrolling, then realized I wanted the gloves back.
All of this in one day. :x

It sucked, but I stepped back, and remembered it's a pixel game. I can earn it back with discipline... discipline........

Investing the remainder of my money after spending most of my gains from maker ON maker to make my reverse weapon. Created just enough 50% scrolls during the Aran event to fully scroll it alone and nothing else (since I felt it would be wrong to profit off of it). Hammered it and 3/9 passed. Potentialed it and it worked, 2 slots, I didn't care so much. Cubed it about 4 times (as much as I could afford), and nothing came of it. Then threw one enhancement scroll on it and it blew up.

Couple years ago bought a partially scrolled XBow from someone particularly famous (not infamous), and was lied to about a competitive buyer and as a result way over-payed which cost me the only time I ever did a gacha run. Also, this was before the scroll anything skill so I had a friend scroll it the rest of the way for me before I could equip it and basically all other scrolls failed.

Waaay back in '06, I had to run for a phone call and left MS up only to come back to me being dead thanks to the vents in ant tunnel. Then there was the chat box stuck death at level 69 in FoG. And silly things like Pap casting slow on me right before switching forms which led to my death not getting far enough to puppet from.

But really, nothing like this really matters anymore. I had wanted to play for longevity's sake and leave characters that I could come back and reminisce on someday like I've done in Runescape and RO (granted the server I played went down which led me to come here in the first place), but I've realized that as long as profit can be squeezed from the game, memories and consistency mean nothing. I could come back in 2 years and if the game is still up, I'd probably have an unplayable character.

For me it has to be every day past level 120 on my WH since its my first 4th jobber.
- I grinded alot to reach 4thjob quickly and I even had decent amount of money even though im unfunded only to have multiple skillbooks not work and they are so rare to buy off poeple in the fm unless u want to get ripped off. I barely break even due to the stupid rex earrings breaking from 3-5 times per level and dying alot when i get pot lag. 120+ is sweet yet bitter, oh and i broke my only decently scrolled xbow with an advance potential scroll.

Man I know your pain. Piercing Arrow 20 is rare as hell in Arcania and I miraculously found one (super overpriced) in FM only to have it fail. Sigh...

Back to hunting hours for it. Already gained a few levels looking for it Sad

I try not to boss without a Wheel or two, nor train without a Charm.
Of course I could still die more times than I have wheels, but I generally figure that if I'm laggy or inattentive enough to die that many times, I really shouldn't be doing that boss that day.

I never use dark scrolls, always buy pre-scrolled. And I never potential my best of anything, even with a 90%. Always the second best, and only after that's cubed to be better than my current best, do I attempt the other one. Of course there's a cost. Those items I don't have a decent back-up for, remain unpotted... and so I'm weaker than I could be if I'd taken the risk and it passed.

Hate that. Mostly in the form of using a lot of cubes and ending up no better than before.

I try to stay out of the popular maps, even if it means training slower. A steady pace is better for my peace of mind than a constant stream of invaders to repel.

I never participate in NX events. Do waste my time, but then, the whole game, and questing in particular, is a waste of time, so it's a deal I'm used to.
