Zelda Art Style
#1
I'm pretty much sure this thread should've been done before so... inb4threadwasalreadymade

Which The Legend of Zelda art style do you prefer?? We now know how is gonna be the art style of Skyward Sword, and many people were upset about the art style, and wanted Twilight Princess's style back.
So, what do you think? Which do you prefer?
Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, or other?

In my opinion, I loved Twilight Princess, as the first Zelda game I finished (I played Wind Waker before), I have a special feeling towards it. I would've liked that Skyward Sword used that style, also I read that if Nintendo would've used Twilight Princess's style for Skyward Sword, it would be pretty much done by now, maybe even released. But well, the art style fitted perfectly for Twilight Princess's story, maybe not for Skyward Sword.

Ocarina of Time / Majora's Mask
Wind Waker
Twilight Princess
Skyward Sword
A Link to the Past (Big Grin)

Those are my top favorites, with no particular order.

Oh, yeah! I had forgotten about Minish Cap. D: I haven't played that game in so long. It's definitely the best hand-held game.

The art style, though, was "okayish," in my opinion.

All I can really say is that Windwaker and the new DS games look absolutely repulsive. Skyward sword looks ok, but still no match at all for Ocarina and Twillight. Always viewed the cartoon Link as a disgrace to fans everywhere.

I'm a sucker for good pixel art, and Minish Cap is among the best. Not to mention that the game was incredible.

Twilight princess is probably tied for my favourite artstyle with OoT/MM.

Wind wakers art style is *ok* and celshading definetly works for some games if done properly.WW Zelda? No. I guess my biggest problem is that everything the artstyle left so much empty space everywhere in the entire game.
I'd also be lying if I said I wasn't unhappy that skyward sword looks much more windwakerish than the original single piece of artwork we had to look at for over a year suggested.

Minishcap can't be put as my favourite handheld game since Links awakening was the first handheld game I ever played. <3 nostaligia. The art style is once again terrible for the handheld DS games. They could have gone crazy an incredible looking real 2d zelda on the DS, but no, we get shitty 3d models and more huge empty spaces with nothing! Yay. Remeber when zelda handhelds had actual overworlds? Yeah, nintendo doesn't either, since they seem to have forgotten how to put them in that hugeass gap between links awakening dx and phantom hourglass where they let capcom handle the handheld games *moarofftopicrant..."

Oracle of Ages and Seasons were AMAZING. They should hire capcom to make more 2-Dimension handheld Zeldas. 2D Zeldas are the best IMO. It's what the series was made for.

And then there comes the OoT fanbase lol
But I have to agree that I loved how they did OoS and OoA.
