My only question is, do I have to actually buy a NAS or can I just stream from my desktop? I just got a Blu-ray player and would like to stream to it, which it only looks like I can if I buy a USB Wifi dongle for it (Sony BDP-S370). I'm running Win7 and it looks like I could stream via WMPlayer.
I just don't want to pay 80 bucks out of my ass to not be able to play my music.

Don't think you have to buy an NAS for this. It would defeat the purpose of marketing the s370 as a device that can stream from your PC (assuming router is wireless).

I'll just go ahead and buy the stick. I can always return it. The problem might be converting all my music into mp3...

Plenty of programs that will turn music into mp3. But if you're used to FLAC, then it will definitely hurt. >.<!

I wonder if I can convert my music folder to mp3 into a separate folder and just stream the second folder... It could probably work some way. I'll have to play around with the streaming options on Windows Media Player. I'm planning on buying the dongle tonight, so I'll keep this updated if anyone wants to know if it works well or not.

Good news! I don't have to convert all of my media to play it! Day is good! In other news, curse Sony for making me buy an extra thing, just to use wifi!
