I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64bit, and for the life of me I can't get MS to stay open. I patched last week to the current update, but when I opened it up, my game crashed within 30 minutes of play. No error window, no warning signs, just exited itself. Re-downloaded the client, and it worked fine the first time I played, but ever since it's had the same issues, random crashes, no error windows or warning signs.
Once when I loaded up, and looked at my Guild window, it was transparent, all I could see were the guild name/emblem and 'online/offline' bars (but not the users under either).
Any thoughts on how I can fix this? I know my computer's good enough to run MS, multiple times over, so I'm guessing it's an error or glitch, and not dying over lack of resources.

The only suggestions I can give are the following:
Make sure Windows Defender and Firewall are completely off. There are several menus you may have to go through to completely disable them.
Make sure that all AntiVirus software is off.
Make sure that you are running the game as Administrator.
When I had these issues myself, changing the first and third fixed these issues almost completely for me. I still get rare loading crashes, but it's significantly better and if I never change areas I will never encounter a single issue.

Did 1&3, I'm a bit against turning off my Antivirus where I don't have to, though I set an exception in it in hopes that it'll help.
Guess time will tell if that works or not.

No bro there is nothing you can do to fix this at all. It's a glitch with Maplestory since Nexon's compatibility patch. Every W7 user (or at least most) get that.

It's a shame they never fixed the incompatibility with BB. You'd think that's one of the first things they think about, since Vista has been out for a while, and with 7 being a vastly superior version over Vista, most people are switching to it.
Another suggestion that works pretty well is to set the Graphics to Lowest. It helps a lot, however it's unbearably ugly to look at so if it doesn't help I wouldn't keep it that way.

If you have to severely limit your security options, as well as gimp your online experience, just to make a game barely cross the threshold of playable, then simply skip playing it until it's generally fixed. Play a different game, bro. If a game is unplayable, it's unplayable.

I play not because I want to play the game, but because I like playing with friends, who play the game.
Doing 1&3 fixed the crashes from what I can tell, but now I get a graphical glitch. Background elements and windows/menus no longer appear (or appear correctly), after a couple minutes of play at best. I remember seeing some screenshots from GMST with peopel complaining over the same error, so is that unfixable?

The problem is, it will never be fixed. If it was going to be fixed, it would have been fixed with BB. It wasn't. They had the chance to fix it when they were changing everything anyway, they could have added the compatibility needed, but they didn't.
The Graphical errors occur less often when you tune down the Graphical settings. If you have the settings on the lowest, you almost never have a problem, but have to suffer horribly pixelated graphics (Honestly, it's intolerable for me). I have the game on the higher middle setting, it screws up the backgrounds but for the rest of the game it seems playable with few problems. I get a problem maybe once a day, it's not a big deal.

To respond to that, i would have to know more about the source code of the game and how a patch could manipulate it enough, but I would be lying if I said I knew that much.

Though if it's as widespread a problem as it appears, you would imagine nexon would attempt to fix it, easy or not.
Thanks for the help all.
