Golden Sun Series Thread
#1
This is my favorite RPG game (no seriously), Golden Sun I and Golden Sun II The Lost Age.
I play this on Visual Boy Advance and clocked it literally 15 times (without hacks or cheats) and then I started messing around with item cheats and psyenergy slotting =P.
Im my 'legit' game, the only item I cannot find is the Lachesis Rule dropped by mad demons in Anemos Sanctum (Yes I have all 72 Djinnis) yet I managed to find around 3 Tisiphones Edge dropped by Cruel Dragons (unlucky huh?).
In my 'cheated' game, I managed to slot the Doom Dragons skill 'Cruel Ruin' into Felix's moveset.
Other than that, for some reason I don't get bored of this game.
Any1 else play any fo the Golden Sun series?

amagad yes. The summons were sex. I also liked the Psynergys: Oddyssey, Ragnarok, and all of other flash 1enemy psy's.

And yes, the game is somewhat difficult, it actually requires you to think.

The Golden Sun saga hasn't ended yet, Nintendo has requested Camelot, wait no, Nintendo wants Camelot to make another Golden sun. Understandble, the game has had alot of success, and they also kinda left us with some cliffhangers.

@JezzaRules : Golden Sun drops don't go on your luck, Golden Sun uses a rather simple RNG (Random Number Generator). You should see GameFAQ FAQs on how to use this simple drop system powered by the RNG, it's easy to get monsters to drop exactly what you want.

I reckon Camelot should start a golden sun MMORPG where you explore and fight monsters in a World of Warcraft like fashion. You start in Vale and you basically level up on monsters in different areas and you use different psyenergy in battles. That would be awesome =P.

ON TOPIC: Yea I know that the drop rate goes under RNG. It's like I tried this strategy a million times on mad demons and no lachesis rule for me =(. I tried again for a few hours and I gave up whereas in the last few hours at cruel dragons, I earned myself three tisiphones edges...

In case you're wondering how I'm trying to kill mad demons, I tried using different psyenergy before finishing off with a venus djinni (I think).
That was a while ago anyway.

I don't see how GS and GS2 is hard to beat, the only hard thing in GS1 is fighting Saturos in Mercury lighthouse and Deadbeard and in GS2, Dullahan and Star Magician.

They were talking about how, if they did make a 3rd one, they wanted to spend as much time on it as possible, as to not screw it up. Me and Isaac had a pretty long pm session about the awesomeness of GS 1 & 2.

Well it's kinda obvious where Isaac got the name from =P
Personally I prefer Felix over Isaac lol.

Anyway does any1 know when GS3 is gonna come out?

There's no official word on it, just the company saying that they want to make it. I assume that it means it's not even in development yet, so I doubt that it will be released till another few years at the earliest.

I'd give my left nut for Golden Sun 3.

Well, I don't think I need to explain much. :p

I was so excited to see Isaac in Brawl, he looks really cool in 3D. Come on, they gotta work off of that. GS3 on the Wii please. XD

I seriously don't have a clue how people can finish this game without looking at a walkthrough half the time. It was so confusing for me.

Played both games, don't exactly see what the big deal is. I still liked it, though.

Come to think of it, Isaac should be an actual playable character in Brawl. Wonder why they didn't add him in as a playable character?

ON TOPIC: The game wasn't that confusing to be honest, I managed without a guide =P The only confusing areas are these areas:
GS1
 • Mogul Forest (without the psyenergy force)
 • Venus Lighthouse (sorta)

GS2
 • Airs Rock
 • Aqua Rock
 • Ankhol Ruins (sorta confusing, not really)
 • Jupiter Lighthouse
 • Magma Rock
 • Anemos Sanctum

He was wanted to become an AT, but not enough to be a playable character. :/

Not enough to be a playable character? How come? I could even think of all the B skills along with the final smash.
If he was playable, I'd say the Final smash will probably be Ragnarok or Odyssey =P.

I can too! Down + B would be a rock wall coming up to protect him. Side + B would be like Spire or something. B I don't know.

Oh yea rite... I forgot about the sub dungeons... yea I'll add Anemos
thanx fo reminding me

Jupiter, I got lost so easil cozthere's like 3 different tower areas which further baffled me.
Air isn't bad but it's long and annoying to my opinion and the Fujin Shield is a MAJOR pain 2 get...
Aqua is alrite outside but the inside is where I get lost on first try.

Out of all the bosses, Dullahan was a real pain the butt if u do not know what you're doing, likewise with Star Magician. (At least Doom Dragon aint that bad...)

I'd give both. =[

Anyways, on-topic. Golden Sun: The Lost Age was about x10 harder and longer than the first one. They could do a lot of cool things with this series. One of the coolest things I could see is an online MMORPG. I think it would be epic. Weyard could be so vast, and then we already have our 4 classes. We also could meet the main characters from the game at certain points during the MMO. I wouldn't mind seeing the third one made into a Wii game but, I'd much rather prefer a DS one. Only because it started as a handheld, it should continue like that.
