How Should I Watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya?

Ive got myself 28 episodes here, and I know there there is a chronological order, and an airing order as well. So which would be the best way to tackle this? Chronologically, or how it originally aired?

If I were you, I would watch it in this order:

Note: This is the same as the order listed on Wikipedia.
Note on Endless Eight: I skipped most of Endless Eight for obvious reasons. Endless Eight part 1, 6 and 8 are the episodes I would watch if I were to cut out the unnecessary episodes. Part 1 is the introduction to the loop, part 6 has one special scene which none of the others do and part 8 has the loop broken. If you can't be bothered to watch three almost similar episodes, just watch part 8.

Do you know the original episode numbers for those? The batch i got them in only had airing order, and no names for the episodes.

You got the 2009 version right? I just checked; the order is fixed for the 2009 version (28 episodes. lol.)

Just skip episodes 13, 14, 15, 16 and 18. If you don't want to watch 3 Endless Eight episodes, then just skip episodes 12~18.

2006 version (14 episodes): Kyon order (Airing), Haruhi order (Chronological), DVD order.
2009 version: Airing order = Chronological order

I think its both. I got season one and season two separately.
