Queue for mafia games
#1
We need some kind of queue, rather than games starting all over the place. What I'm suggesting is that hosts send their game structure to me (yeah, I'm not playing SP mafia anymore, it's official now). I'll either approve it, or give you advice about how to improve it. Once it is approved, I'll add it to the queue. This way there's an established system of governing which game goes when, and possibly less QQing about OP/UP roles/factions.

If you'd like, you can talk to Xela about my current game. He already knows the inner structure, and is enjoying watching the game with me. I personally find my game to be incredibly balanced, but I don't know.

The idea to go in order is nice, but I think everything else you talked about is unneeded. The StarCraft game was what you would call unbalance, but it was fun. I think we should allow the freedom for the authors to shape their story however they wish.

The queue was the more important feature, I don't foresee balance being an issue. It's only there to prevent fatal loopholes and things like that.

As for format, just PM me the role PMs and a summary of what each role does.

i had an idea for a reverse batman mafia game (mafia = batman-related heroes, everyone else = batman villains), but i know jacksh'it nothing of organizing a game.

and as an aside, why'd you decide to fully stop playing games on SP?

Yeah, I'm not quite sure about the BS, either.

If you want to know, we'll discuss it in VMs or PMs. This thread isn't about me, lol.

Just noticed this thread. I don't have a theme in mind yet, but I'd like to host either the next game or the one after that if I don't have a theme/roles ready in time. Any objections from anyone?

Also, Ray: Not to seem rude, but what makes you the authority on what's fair/balanced? I don't think you'd be a bad judge of it, I'm just thinking that if there's actually going to be a review board or something, you could at least include me. >_>
(And no, I'm not just being all "D: I WANT TO BE SPECIAL", it's more of a "I don't really want to play either and I've hosted/played in a lot of games" type of thing.)

I'm thinking about a Southperry theme, but I'm too busy at the moment to run it.

I don't think that would be the best option since mafia games don't really have set dates, some last longer than others, even after you know how many people are playing, you can't predict how long it will last.

That's my point, you can't really know when to start if you don't know when the current game is gonna finish, not to mention having 2 games in queue, I think the best thing would be keeping this topic with a list of who wants to do the next game not really hard, something like:

NumberThemeHost
1Reverse BatmanMute
2xLord Xela

This is just an example, a very simple one.

Day x: Starter thread made.
day of start, make calender post: Day X, start of game.
each day, update calender posts with current day of game.

yeah it'd be more work, but eh.

but ya know what? i think id like to discuss with xela and ray this idea ive got before i lose it...

Simple: when the first game is nearing its end, then update the calender with a projected finish date. or, just post it when the game's over.
