Anyone planning to get it? The battle system looks as advanced as Tales of the Abyss, if not.. even more intriguing and tactical, from what I've seen. =) Also, here's the spoiler, and it's about the Cameo battle, certain bosses from other Tales games = cameo characters!

If I had a 360 I would. It looks great. Interesting choice on the Cameo Battle. I liked ToS's version though. Too bad Farah was nerfed.

Farah was nerfed? How so..? I played the American ToS version, if she was nerfed, I probably didn't noticed. o_O; But the only error I noticed was that during the cameo, when she used 3 consecutive "Beast"s, it should have been called "Maximum Burst" as a skill.. but Namco didn't list that as a skill, but instead, 3 seperate Beast-attacks, which is rather unusual..

Also, if you look up "Tales of Vesperia cameo", you can actually see the cameo characters' Hi-Ougi. =)

@Gina: -highfives- XD <3

I meant nerfed as in she didn't have her character's full potential. There was no difference between game versions. Japanese (PS2?) had a better fight though, with Yuan, Kratos, and Mithos vs your party.

Oh, that's definitely true! Yeah, she had much more skills on ToE, and most of her more technical skills weren't even implemented in ToS. xP; I would have LIKED to see Deadly Force or Flame Dance.. xD;

Fatal Fury!
I find it odd that they used two from Eternia and one from Destiny. I never liked Garr that much. I guess they couldn't use people from Phantasia because of continuity issues, because then it wouldn't be a Cameo, it'd be time travel <_<

Oh, and what would have been awesome was Meredy + ToE Thunder Blade & Farah + Twin Palm Strike. (I think it was)

Isn't that the attack where Farah jumps up and use a Kamehameha-looking skill? If so, I know what you're talking about! xD And yes, Fatal Fury would have definitely been nice! Reid was toned-down a bit in TotA's cameo too, imo. He didn't even have his Omega Demon Chaos skill, nevermind his Dragon Demon Chaos hiougi. ;_;

Yeah, that's the one. It was always so much trouble to activate it in-game because I could never time Meredy's Thunder Blade and have Farah close enough.

I rarely used those skills, I think they're called "Secret Skills", if I'm correct? >.< During my first couple playthroughs, I used Reid most of the time. But after my first couple playthroughs, I realized I liked to use Farah more because of her attack-style AND speed. xD If anything, Farah was my most favorited character in that series. I tried using Regal in ToS, and it didn't feel the same. =(

That's because Regal sucks. Farah's Eagle's Rage alone is better than anything he knows.

LOL! XD Yeah, I had problems controlling Regal. I tried to chain his Eagle attacks, and... it .. didn't seem to work as well as with Farah's. =/ Eagle Rage + Twin Palm Strike = hax. <3

The game looks ownage, but I have to say that from what I've seen (Gameplay Videos and such) I still like Tales of the Abyss most.

But yeah, If I had a 360 I'd buy it. I guess I'll have to wait for ToSBig GrinotWN

Having never played any Tales games, I have to say... this game looks horrible Rolleyes I think it's a combination of the anime'ish graphics and the overall cluttered flashiness of the combat that turns me off of it, but I dunno...

That said, everyone everywhere seems to be in love with the Tales series and they're apparently good for 80+ hours of gameplay so I'll probably wind up renting it to give it a shot and form a valid opinion at that point. I don't expect to like it though :-p

If you know you're gonna hate it, why waste your money? o_O
Don't go trying stuff just because some other people liked it. ;/

I'm not closed-minded enough to know that I'll hate it. Heck, if I do wind up liking it, it opens up a ton of other similar games to play since the Tales series is huge :-p

It's kind of like with Nexon - expect the worst and once in a blue moon you'll be pleasantly surprised. Also, it's not like 5$ is a lot of money...

Tales games are usually always fun. One thing that always catches my attention is the music they use, it's quite epic. Something I don't seem to like is the graphics. To me it's like taking a step back from Tales of the Abyss, which was on a less powerful system.

yes I've been playing Tales games since TOD for ps1 omfg.

I plan to buy a 360 for this..ugh why did I buy a wii. Even though TOS 2 is coming out soon it looks dumb, and I can play it at a friends house if I really wanted too.

5$? Wow, that's cheap. Rentals for new games here is like, 15-25$

Well, I guess you're right. I used to hate FPS games until someone showed me Goldeneye 64, lol... I myself like the flashy anime style though. It's a nice refreshment from all the heavy realism styles that most consoles are trying to pump out so much nowadays.

Good luck with Vesperia, see. ;o

And yeah, I agree with ToS2. It looks some guy got his hands on the copyright license of symphonia and created a sub-par and crappy fanfiction sequel. Lulz
