We will be performing a routine maintenance on all game servers on October 5th. During this period, MapleStory will be unavailable. Game maintenance will last approximately 8 hours.

It's a weekly scheduled maintenance, they happen every week to handle World Transfers, Name Changes, and I believe to restart the servers.

I hope they don't remove the 120+ PQ.

It won't be removed, it was left with a repeatable quest that never exsisted during the alien event.

I'm planning on making lots of stews this year. That's why I want those two bosses so bad.

The quest isn't required to go inside the cube, so it has limited correlation.

Well, you can use tokens to purchase the frog and cat etc drops, but it only gives you one per token. Each cat and frog drop 20 of their respective item (free for all sadly).

No, you could also make with the cat and frog etc drops, and a bunch of other random etc drops (like Blue Mushroom Caps, Ligator Skins, etc).
