As of now, since the Adobe Air upgrade to v2.0, my laptop just got too craptastic to play effectively. However you interpret that is debatable, since it was doing 10-15 fps before xD

Ive got the same issue, do have a friends old laptop that i get to use sometimes though
The game seems super simplistic to me. I know there's a lot more behind it than just HURRRR GANK, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of sophistication in anything you can do outside of premades.

Jungle fights are where it's at.
Also, I've seen some pretty insane shyt going down in 5v5 premade blind matches. (which you'll never see in 5 team ranked matches because they get countered)
Btw, if it means anything to anyone, my ELO is ~1500 (before they stopped leaking them in the .log files), and this has been consistent across all my accounts except the newest one. The guys I fight on my main are definitely harder though.
I'm level 12 now yay for flash I'll try that out some tomorrow.
@ a couple post's above he was referring to HoN (Heroes of Newarth or something of that sort) which is a different style of DoTA gameplay, more sophisticated in some aspects.
My favorite is when I first get that infinity edge on tryn around the last 10 minutes or so of the game, and get like 7 or 8 kills in that timespan some 2v1 fights even.
I think I am going to buy sona though, just to have as an option to play as when I'm on a team with garen, because they are nearly impossible to take down... and believe
me I tried taking sona down first many a time, that witchhaxxor is too quick.

Truth be told, I heard that HoN was originally an exact replica of DotA when it was first made, except it has its own engine and it has smooooth graphics. S2 Games basically just asked IceFrog (current dev for DotA) for permission to do so, and he gave the go-ahead.
Also, you don't know bliss until you've done one of the following:
--3-shotted the other team's caster as a physical carry.
--Single-handedly destroy the Nexus from 100% to 0 after everyone else has died.
--Epic KS Baron Nashor from the other team and win.
--1v2 during laning phase and kill them both.
--Run past all 5 enemy champions after downing a turret and survive. Stealth and global teleport skills do not count.
--Solo turret dive someone from 100% to 0 and live, while it is laning phase.
--Winning a match after having lost everything but your Nexus, while the enemy still has most of their turrets. (fking long-ass games ;_
--5-man gank the solo mid champion during late laning phase. (okay, not a great feat, but completely lulzy)
Kajiti, how the hell do you win when they are spawning super minions? please tell me nao!
I'm gonna guess it has something to do with destroying their team's inhibitor while they are attacking your base still?
Edit: Oh yeah you talking about jungle fights made me think of the other day I was almost ganked after slaying one of
their carries in the jungle (I'm trynd of course), and I juked the rest of their team from ganking me with the use of my
cleanse and spinning slash (shiat goes through the "tree walls" in jungle). That was awesome for me!
We lost to a retarded team that stacked tanks yesterday, and their taric was stacking fricken sunfire capes... >.< woe was me,
because my team consisted of... you guessed it---->All squishy squishy carries. Got slaughtered in like 15 minutes.

Here's one such game where it happened: game0001v.png.
More description
When things got really bad, we decided to grab Guardian Angels, which ended up with us always out-lasting whatever offensive they pulled off (including two rounds of Nashor buffs), forcing them to recover at base. Their Ashe was also decidedly sub-par. Also, it was evident that their Amumu was ruining us with his ultimate, so we decided not to cluster up at some point, probably at base where we needed to kill off lots of creeps everywhere.
Later on, after our inhibitors respawned and we cleaned up the super creeps, we managed to catch Amumu out of position in the jungle, and since I was the one who found him, I used Crystallize at the worst possible moment, and we all proceeded to annihilate his ass. Since the other team was deprived of their tank, and some of us had Revive buffs ready (I has two of them!) we bulldozed our way to victory. It's really important not to wipe at end-game.
I cannot guarantee that you can always come back from it though. In fact, don't expect to.
Backdooring their inhibitors is an option though, if you have a skilled backdoor player =/
