um, Wind booster anyone?
#1
So yeah, just thought about it. Will wind booster even affect weapons like RK? If so, we could have some ridiculous heor/viper parties. Anyone have any info on this? I wanna know if brandish can become even faster.

The NLs have been contemplating on how wind booster would make their triple throw faster. So I assume it should work for rk-using brandish heroes.

Isn't there a LIMIT in terms of throwing-star speed? I heard Fast vs Faster speed with any claw with Claw Booster = same result. If not, then it's certainly not very noticeable.. unless Wind Booster lets you go beyond the limit or something.

From the speed differneces I'm not sure anything with fast(4) or faster speed benefits from wind booster.

Booster with a fast (4) weapon is the same attack speed as booster with a faster(3) weapon for claws with TT and swords with brandish. Booster being -2 speed and wind booster being -2 speed drops those speeds to 0 and -1. Unless the speed value changes at 0 or -1 there won't be any speed increases for RK heroes and NLs.

I say all of that without having seen any videos of wind booster.

I think DS will be the same speed as red katana's with windbooster. I would've cared and such and done research, but I quit. Wink

That should be true with 11+ Wind booster and if Wind booster doesn't make RKs any faster.

I really think they need to remove the speed limitations on weapons once pirates come out. How completely useless will windbooster be for anyone except warriors -_-".

SUPER SUPER FAST ASSASSINATE PLZ WITH DAMAGE CAP REMOVED TOO XD

Well lets see...

Heroes - I think that Brandish with a 1h sword is already at the speed limit. 2h Sword users will get a boost though.
Paladins - Same as above
DKs - They get the full +2, lucky them!
Mages/Bishops - Unknown. If it actually works on them, it'll work to full effect and help them both quite a bit.
Bowmasters - Hurricane is a constant speed. No help here.
Marksmen - Won't help with Pierce, but Strafe will be boosted very nicely. I think their shots/minute will go as high as NLs.
Shadowers - Prolly will help, but not with things that have a delay (BStep) or things that require you to cast non-attacking speed based skills (Assassinate, you have to cast DS).
Night Lords - Already discussed. Likely won't help at all.
Captains - Same as Night Lords/Bowmasters.

I tested the speed with several skills for fast (4) and faster (3) weapons. The fact that fastest (1) is just as fast as fastest(2) would most likely state that fast(4) would be obsolete and a waste, while normal(6) swords would be the best to get.

so, this is another trip on the failboat for Nexon then? (although, as an axe hero, i will enjoy being nice and speedy with the lvl 100+ axes <3)

Trip on the failboat? How often would you party a viper? Besides, it's actually equalizing characters (Dark Knights, marksmen, magicians).

Wind booster works for mages and bishops.

so from a DK point of perspective, once we have vipers we wont just be HB/seduce mules and will be decent attackers?

considering DK fastest (endgame) weapon is normal (6) and since booster(-2) + wind booster(-2) = fastest (2) and The fact that fastest (1) is just as fast as fastest(2)

even if crushers speed is beat by brandish, its all good for us Drks?

I would have sworn on it that weapon booster from 2nd job only lowers the speed count by 1 ( 6 -> 5).

KaidaTan Wrote:Marksmen - Won't help with Pierce, but Strafe will be boosted very nicely. I think their shots/minute will go as high as NLs.

Probably not, since Strafe is 4 shots and TT is 6, PLUS the xbow shot animation is longer than any of the throwing animations. It'll probably only be lacking by a few shots/minute though.

But is it just for normal attacks, or does it affect spells too?

Shadower's savage blow will be freaking speed demon with wind booster.

For a captain, triple fire, BS cannon, and BS torpedo are affected by wind booster. Those skills act almost exactly like Strafe and Iron Arrow.

It's only rapid fire that isn't affected by booster, and most captains will be using BS cannon more anyway.

With normal booster, savage blow is already maxed out in speed unless you're using a kebob. It will be uneffected by wind booster.

I'm not entirely sure where the idea of balancing classes out makes sense. ok, it's nice that DrKs can attack a bit faster, but once again, axe saders get owned, same sas BW WKs (assuming nobody is using an RK).
this makes being 1h almost useless (in that a DS will have the same speed as an STS), and well rangers and marksmen will be even more ridiculously powerful. Claws aren't so much an issue, since they're already super fast. I just fail to see where the "balance" you speak of comes into play

Marksmen aren't ridiculously powerful. In terms of STDPS (which is where attacking speed matters the most) they're actually pretty low.

Rangers won't get more power, hurricane's better than strafe anyday. Marksmen != powerful. 1h is not useless, it's still as convenient for everyday training unless you assume you're going to get max windbooster everywhere. Same goes for STS.

As for Axes and BWs, I'm aware that this won't help these by a lot, but it will increase their damage at least.
