Is it even possible to make money anymore?

With GMS just being all messed up as it is. Is it worth it ? You can hardly make money without having nx and those who don't are left in the dust. So is there a reason to play anymore if the average mapler can't have some fun and play a RPG ?

Erm...you could lolmerchant, or sell those 50% 2 handed scrolls, if that works anymore.

I have made loads more from selling drops with decent potential than I have ever made from equip drops pre potential system in the same amount of time.

Right now we have the visitor equips, but beyond that... I dunno. I had broken down to the point where I was actually depending on that free gacha ticket event to refund me enough to main up an alt of mine. Got something nice, but refunded I am not. You could... take a few months off to area boss for a few 100k per scroll, or jump into the whole "hunt common potential items and hope to get lucky" pool and do the same thing, or just level up a whole lot and become part of a bossing squad. But that is just about it. As it stands right now, sub-4th jobbers can't really make anything more that the pots it takes to train. The way I see it, if you are below 4th now, just wait til BB hits and then train up to 4th followed by hunting the aforementioned spots.

Well, that, and give up on scrolling equipment at all. All the other characters I raise from this point on are going to wear clean equips, if lucky with potential, but I won't hold out. The only way to play casually now is to completely give up on DPS comparisons.

techically, all you need is 1 nx store every 3 months
i wouldn't say "totally messed up" if your not funded..

just get as many items as possible..and if possible, try selling stuff in mts and get nx through that
that's what i've been trying to do, get items to sell in mts for nx..

otherwise, i wait for the 2x meso drop on wednesdays (or window shop in fm)

I've made about 400mil from 60% scrolls, couple potential equips, and Alien equipment. It's not entirely impossible, but it's very hard to pinpoint a price on most items right now, least in Khaini, due to the economy still being unstable from the Potential System.

Bossing is near useless now. The meso:nx ratio is too high to profit off helms normally and horntai/cht drops are not worth the cost of run nearly. The alien pq is a bit of profit and then there's merchanting which I never figured out too well.

It sure would be nice to have bosses have a much higher potential chance for equips to make them worth the effort again.

Not really hard. But some people, like me, don't put enough effort that actually works out in the end. And technically, store cost NX, and sometimes it's pretty irritating to sell cerain things w/o them. Many merchanting opportunities are held through nx. But I know some people who have pulled decent equips out of their ass, with money to spare, that haven't used money on nx at all. Be smart enough, and you'll do fine.

people don't go on zruns for buyers anymore. It;s more people go on zruns and karma the helms and sell them. I can't go on zruns anymore cause of the damn vista/win7 thing (yes even when i do change graphics, i still dc). I don't have the NX for anything right now. I got my gach tickets, but i think i'll hold them till next patch to see if the stupid expiring gach crap is gone (i.e. the shoulder equips that expire in 3 months). I'd try merchanting with NX, but the tax rate made it impossible to really sell etcs anymore (before people could sell 200 etcs for exchange quest or 200 ores for like 100 nx minimum, meaning anyone could sell normal things and people would buy them. Now people have to go for high profile items in order to get any decent sort of profit (i.e. atk wgs and scrolled items). And to fund that sort of work, one needs to have money in the first place, meso wise, meaning you'd need to spend hours in FM spamming "S> ________ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@". It's a never ending cycle. so it's either NX--> mesos-->nx--> mesos. OR mesos--> nx--> mesos--> nx. It's all a matter of which you have more of and how you sell and buy things. You could sell NX for mesos (more direct profit; i know scania's nx:mesos is somewhere from 1:15m to 1:18m).

All merchanting in-game, like in real life, require massive amounts of patience and ALWAYS needs investments.

Yep, it's hard making mesos without the use of any NX...well, for me anyways. You can get scrolls from LPQ (lol) and Nett's. You could always try hunting for chaos scrolls...even if they are cheaper than ever.

Events, events, events. The only times I've made more than thirty dollars worth is the Coca-Cola event and the 7th anniversary event. I've seen ppl make big money every time a new job comes out and ppl hunt for MBs. Decent money could be made by selling cheap drops like PoT and scrolls. Overtime the amount of money you make from collecting normal drops is about the same as the amount of money from these one-time, big events.

The problem isn't that I can't or don't want to buy nx. The problem is current MTS FEE.

Yellonde fm is dead, you have no clue how dead it is. Theres stores to only room 6 and like 2-5 people, 3 bots in entrance.
Everything non-gach is worth nothing and keeps deflating, but I guess that's what Nexon wants it to be. They are forcing people to buy nx.

It's not like you need to sell stuff at some kind of general server approved sum.. So what if you miss out on a potential million here and there as long as you sell your stock fast. Profit is profit and fingertip feeling is what you need

When the dang ratio went to 1:12-13 I got discouraged. Once it hit 1:15 I gave up. I blame the fact everyone's gone power hungry once the cubes came out. Demand for NX went up so much it wasn't even funny.

MTS fee was definedly biggest reason it went from 1:4 to 1:10. And I'm pretty sure it's still 1:10 in yellonde, atleast it was last time I checked...

1:10? Yesterday I had to pay 1:15 to get my smega to show off my VIP XBow. Was lowest I could find after over 250 people including my buddy's buddies and their alliances searching for an nx seller within 30 minutes. Dam crazy.

I don't know how but I have been playing with below 20mil for all of my maple career! I pretty much steer clear of the FM bc its just a lag fill pit of despair.

Here in Scania NX goes from 1:15 to 1:20! It's insane...

Hackers are inflating the ratio since they have too much mesos. It's going to be hard to play this game without spending any on NX soon. If you want to make a lot of mesos, you either have to be lucky, provide service, or be someone's middle-man. If you want consistent income, it's going to be bossing but not a lot of people are capable of doing that on a regular basis plus you'll have trouble with hackers. Be lucky with potential drops, that looks like the norm of making money now.
