what the heck is up with this skill system? i haven't done anything except spend 2 hours on the command board trying to learn about it and i'm still massively confused. and what's up with skill melding? what is the purpose? the tutorials don't help at all either.

why is this game so unnecessarily complicated

Im still having a problem launching the game. My friend fixed it for me before but I dont know how. The UMD never shows up in the Game section.

Edit: Fixed it. Now going to install the game so I dont have to bother with loading times since I have the space for it. Also, finally! The problem was is that the back of my PSP is all messed up and takes a bit to read UMDs.

Watching videos of BBS makes me wish I had a PSP. I like the command system from what I've seen so far (much better than using MP/Panels), and the fact that you play trough 3 stories seems great to me.

I can't block Omnislash hahaha

I just used Shotlock for invincibility during Omnislash since you can not survive that skill at all. Also, Aqua's Auto-Life was helpful! Barely managed to beat him. Only problem with this plan is that Shotlock is so strong that Omnislash will keep being used over and over >.<

so i'm at what i assume is ven's last boss because i've been playing through it somewhat slowly (ven is my first character, too) and i've realised that all of my struggling in this game can be attributed to the psp's nubbin analog stick (piece of crap), the awful camera, and the fact that in any battle when i'm getting into it i start leaning the psp and then end up losing focus.

games like this just don't belong on a handheld. fortunately, like all other worthwhile psp games it'll probably eventually be ported to the psp or psn. not that i'm going to stop playing now but if i ever go to replay it in the future, that would be preferable.

All I see there are invalid points o.o The analog stick works wonders on the PSP, what are you talking about? Games that require much more attention and are way more demanding like Monster Hunter are famous because of the PSP. I don't get you.

they're famous because of what they are, not because of the platform. if they were on the ps2/3 they would be played more widely and would be that much better. i fail to see how those are invalid points. we're not robots; we move around in tense situations. kingdom hearts doesn't account for that and gives you absolutely no leeway, not being completely focused for even a second during a boss battle is guaranteed death. bad cameras is not even close to being an invalid point. it's got terrible cameras that don't follow enemy movement or really even your characters positioning. especially considering how often enemies pop up behind you and your only choice is to slowly turn it with r or l. and the analog stick is not good. it's okay for movement but in tense situations it sticks too much or isn't as quick to respond as the dual shock analog.

edit: i just looked up psp analog and it seems like my psp doesn't have the normal type, so yeah that is invalid. that's what i get for buying from a pawn shop. mine is like... a little lump coming off the psp with grip that literally slides around.

The PSP definitely needed Birth by Sleep. The competition from the Nintendo DS is too overwhelming.

For the game play, the camera definitely has some issues. The lock on is a little annoying but besides that I find this game to be quite superior, and not many other PSP games can compare to this one.

Just beat Terra's story on Critical at level 27 (little proud moment for me Big Grin), can't wait to play Ventus' and Aqua's stories next.

Yeah, sorry I didn't get my point across. I've read about the camera issues. It seems that the L/R triggers are implemented way too poorly.

I'm almost done Terra's story. I just beat

but I had to go grind for a while to get more abilities, since I kept losing. After that, he was pretty easy due to having more HP and a really powerful Shotlock.

Stats as of now; might change the deck a bit though:

EDIT: And done.

I kinda don't like this, but it's a switch up from the console games combat system.

I think the entire KH franchise is a bit eccentric, personally. Which is why I'd rather step back and watch what others has to say about it. Most of the people I've discussed with on my FaceBook said that they all enjoy KH, though I'm not too big of a fan in regards to it. I've played a couple games, but couldn't get into it. At all. I might buy this one and try it out, but before I do, I might just wait until there's some decent bossing videos on YT, just to see more about the combat system.

EDIT: I do know for a fact that the Dissidia combat system was based off of KH's, yet I liked the combat system on that. Yet KH's battle system's pacing seems a bit more simple and slower.

I'm being a platypus and playing on standard mode first T_T.

Anyway, beat Terra's story already and grinding my ass off with Ven in the mirage arena. Game is fun as hell so far,but the loading times are a bit long. Even after I did the biggest install and put it on 333 MHz it still feels slow.
