About exp distribution.

 Backstory

Okay, so yesterday a guildie of mine was looking for someone to come leech at Skeles. They said they would get more exp that way, anyways. I assumed that was because of HS. So I offered to go on my Hp Warrior, which was 60 at the time.

They said I had to be 108+ to leech. I said no problem, I have PG. I still get exp; no big deal. I was refused once again. Other members of the guild kept on saying that the exp distribution won't work right if I'm not of leeching level (108+). I tried to ask for a proper explanation of why the exp distribution will get messed up, but none of them could provide a proper answer. They kept going back and forth about party bonus exp, and regular exp, and HS, killing faster than I hit with PG, etc. At this point, I concluded that they were making up random excuses because they didn't want me there.

I was shot down a final time with, "the point is, they will get less exp. they won't train with you".

Let's take a training party at Skeles. Actually, the one that I was not accepted into.

2 DBs, and a Priest/Bishop.

Let's say that I were to enter the party on my Hp Warrior. The exp for them would get boosted because HS works better with more people in the party, right? I would hit the Skeles with PG, and I would then get exp from that. Most likely around the same that a person would get for just leeching at 108+.

Exp for them goes up because of an extra member, and I take some away from PG leeching. Is that not the same as a person 108+ just sitting there leeching? Actually, a person leeching regularly would get exp form every kill, whereas PG leeching would only get me exp from the ones I actually hit.

Can someone clear this up for me? 'Cause I'm rather unsatisfied with, "they just get less exp"...

Interesting, I'd like to hear the answer too, because, from my perspective there's 2 options, they were wrong or I was wrong the whole time.
I've always had the idea that you need 3 party members for HS to have full effect, maybe it could have been that the HS mule was 108-, and they needed another 108+ to get the full exp?, maybe the HS needs 3 members above required level or something?

It's a possibility the HS mule itself was below leeching level, and they needed another 108+ to get the full boost of holy symbol. Thus your power guard mule = useless from their perspective.

The bonus from HS only counts the number of people actually getting exp from the kill. It doesn't do you any good to fill a party with 4 mules. When you add a person to the party, the bonus goes up, but you will still get less exp per kill because you have an extra person leeching.

Actually it has been my experience (training at skeles with a bishop and ring mule) that I got more base exp each skele (before the 80% obviously) than I did with just the bishop. So it doesn't matter if the other member is getting exp. At least that has been my experience.
