Overheating laptop?

Considering i'm in a closed, air conditioned (high) room, with both the internal fan and two external fans blowing on my laptop, and it still gets deathly hot when I play something from the virtual memory requirement of maple or above, I think it's about time something is wrong. I replaced the fan about 5 months ago, as it was much much worse then, but only recently it started becoming a problem, a problem I associated with the heat. But, i'm starting to thing that just isn't right. It's overheated in my room multiple times in the last few days, even when it's really rather cold, and i'm wondering what the hell could possibly going on. The dell customer service is shi't, so I figured i'd ask you, Southperry.

I have a Dell Studio 15, with:

• 4 gigs of RAM
  
• 450 gig HDD
  
• Intel Core 2 Duo Core CPU @ 2.53 GHz
  
• ATI Mobility Raedom HD 4570
  

I'm not sure really, but Alien Swarm or Maplestory shouldn't be pushing my computer to overheation. I can understand Mass Effect, but.. not Maplestory.

Do what I did. Follow these easy steps.

1. Find a bucket of LEGO. Not, not kidding, keep reading.
2. Build 4 blocks with these measures: 3 tall, 4 long, 3 wide.
3. Place each on each corner of it.
4. Find something to put below that puts them in place, so that they won't move away.
5. Check results.

Also try that same thing with an extra fan platform. I use one of those with 2 extra fans below. Try it, and tell the results. The main problem usually comes from the fact it's laying over the same table it's being overheated.

I used taped together old VCR tapes. They aren't going to be used anytime soon and it gets it further off the ground. Worked.

My cousin puts an ice pack on hers. It seems to work really well.
I don't have an ice pack, so I usually just freeze a water bottle and place it onto my laptop. =/

My charger wire gets mad overheated too, and problem with that is, my battery died so I need my labtop plugged in 24/7 if it's gunna work 24/7.

Does it stop working if it gets too hot? The little pack halfway through my charger gets hot, but it doesn't ever shut down.

Mine never shuts down either, but it gets really overheated. The heat doesn't bother me but because my labtop gets overheated, I lag on MS whenever it is overheated.
