Blocked

So my dad put a block on maple after I got fail AP test scores, I think it's like school blocks because he also blocked me from SP, which I can access with a proxy. I've been in a constant battle with him over internet access including MAC spoofing and a bunch of other stuff. Trying to launch the game through a proxy or gamelauncher doesn't work. Anyway can anyone offer an idea?

Yeah, do well on your exams next time, and this won't happen again. I understand where your dad is coming from. Those tests are expensive and because you failed them because of Maple is a sure reason to ban you.

My advice is to get better AP test scores. Yeah. Might seem harsh, but seriously. You don't want to end up as someone leeching off of your dad when you grow up.

"You get your pomegranate back when you get better AP scores" is not a fair policy. This isn't like school where your grade changes weekly.

Start in safe mode with Networking and try the blocks. If that works, then find the program he installed and disable it? If it doesn't, find the router settings or something?

Oh, ok then.

Do better on your exams, so you can easily avoid your tech problems.

Hi this isn't troll because I'm ethically better than you with nothing significant to say.

And I do do fine in school, and my other standardized tests but I don't feel like explaining my personal issues and real life problems with my parents for you. If you're going to comment because you feel some judgmental need to show off that you know better then please don't comment at all. Otherwise I don't feel inclined to listen to your opinion. Post only if you actually want to help.

Side note: I have over a 3.7 cum GPA, a 2070 SAT, and a 33 on the ACT. I guess I am explaining my personal issues but whatever. I also got a 4 on my AP English one while I did bad on my AP Calc one, perhaps I feel as if my dad is going too far but that still is none of your concern. So it'd be nice if you got rid of your superior attitude. I didn't fail them because of maple, I wasn't actually even playing during that time. And while the tests are expensive I never wanted to take 4 of them at a time, I specifically asked if I could just take one or two but my opinion was disregarded.

Good job, you just made yourself a perfect example of hypocrisy.

Watch your mouth now. You're really stepping the line between civility and flaming now; what you're doing now is pretty much insulting the moderator of this forum. I won't be surprised if you get infracted for this, really.

And really, from what I can see, you really need to take a break off MS. Academics is the first thing you need to concentrate on. We're not going to help you continue on the slippery path towards failure by helping you get access to MS. There's a limit where "help" doesn't benefit the one that needs help.

Grow up, and accept what's been given to you (and trust me, your dad's trying to throw you a lifeline here), and improve next time.

I'm going to get a warn for this, but you just said you're ethically better than the person who's trying to help you.

Meh, I'm not going to argue. Just close the thread please. I guess sorry for the fact I felt insulted by the attacks on my personal life by people who don't know my situation at all.

Actually you insulted the mod who was telling the other users to stop judging you rather than answering your question... Good reading comprehension skills there.

Actually, Ray told people to focus on your question regarding your block and how you could avoid it, instead of discussing your life problems and scores around this thread.
If that wasn't a helpful comment, then i don't know what was it.

"Hi this isn't troll-because-I'm-ethically-better-than-you-with-nothing-significant-to-say."

I think he took Ray's comment as "Take your life problems elsewhere" and directed at him. Regardless, we're WAY off topic.

Gonna leave this here since it's still relevant and might shift the thread back on topic before it gets locked.

Mm I see. Sorry to Ray then. I'll try that and try to figure something else on my own, I realize now that this was probably a touchy subject to be posting, and that an angry reply probably wasn't best. If possible I'll just do some research on my own or wait out the block. Thanks for explaining my error and the tip on safe mode.

Edit: Oh, its not an installed program, I'm pretty sure he just blocked certain websites with our router's features, and I have no way of accessing the router settings, he changed the factory settings and I guess the only way for me to access it would be to brute force it.

Reset the router? That should do the trick. It usually does.

I think resetting the router would be obvious, and I think my dad checks on the router daily so when he sees that the passwords were restored to factory default he'd catch on. Oh well, thanks for the help anyways, I think I'll just wait it out.

Reset and change them to your own. Lock the fucker out of the router.

His father could just reset it again, and that'd start a nasty degree of antagonism between the two which would like result in much more loss of freedom and privilege.

Do other online programs(i.e MSN) besides web browsers work for you? Otherwise he might have instated a very select amount of ports to be open - which in your case, would mean there's not much you can do.
