Mastery Books (Post Big Bang)
#1
Don't think this was ever brought up. What is gonna be the new 4th job system, if anyone has an idea. Is the book system gonna be scrapped, and all current books gonna be useless?

I'm sure there's still going to be the same book system. Since the patch is going into KMS today/tomorrow (whatever it is...), I would say we're keeping the same skill books, but the skills that were changed are having their books modified to fit the "new" skills, like Brandish books will become Brave Slash books and so on. That's just a guess, though.

I guess we'll find out in a few days.

I remember somewhere it was mentioned that when the Dark Knight's Hex (Or was it Aura?) skill was changed that there would be new skill books, so it looks like they would still be around (Not 100% sure on this one).

EDIT:
Quote:Also, skill balancing stuff is coming.... looks like they changed a lot of stuff. One of the first things I noticed was that they added mastery books for Hex of the Beholder, Aura of the Beholder, and Bahamut. Also, a lot of new skill icons were added.

Looks like mastery books are staying then, but may be changed or not at all.

apparently if you had a maxed skill and reset the points to the point wehere you aren't supposed to be allowed to do it, it retains the "maxed" quality and just has less points in it. o_O

PERFECT. I have taunt on max level 30, so I get to keep it! HOORAY!

I don't have any specific examples, but weren't some 4th job skills scrapped or did all of them just get edited/added

Maybe like holy charge vs divine charge. Or how Eliquines/ifrit were switched. I guess the latter isn't too hard to patch over, but the former could be a problem? It would suck if they just reset every single skill and you had to re-use books instead of remembering what mastery levels some people got their skills to.
